Do not do this CG! Here is why...

Free modules.. Sorry this CG is decided already. Blame Fdev :)

it's a standard grind module that probably most already have unlocked, and new players will have a hard time scoring to 75% against thargs (unless it's only scout killfest?), might be better off doing the regular grind which is at least guaranteed.

What a considerate idea!
Fail this CG so that AXCZ's return - then the AXI can have something to do...
I'd love AXCZ's, it is what I thought may be out there tonight, but no - only NHSS spread far & wide - I'm not bothering and will head back to the bubble tonight and do something else

As people who have traveled to Witch Head nebula might have noticed, there are no AX Conflict Zones around, even though there supposedly is a thargoid attack going on.

What a joke. I haven't played for months and only logged on because I was expecting AX CZs. yawn I can do NHSSs anytime I want. Wake me when AX CZs are back.

To quote directly off AXI Discord from myself:
I'm thinking about this y'all... and I think that the gamble to let the CG fail has more downside hazards than just clearing it. If they intend on doing goid CG stuff, they're gonna do goid CG stuff, they'll just rewrite it like they did with Liz Ryder "proving her innocence" without being arrested by handing over her info to the Empire. If it IS a test to see how much interest there is in Goid content, we need to clear that CG in days or they may scrap future goid content dev plans.

TL;DR:
If CG fails it says goids may expand, but FDev will assume limited interest in Goid content thus tabling plans for progressing.
If CG succeeds goids get "pushed back" in minor invasion event but FDev learns people want goid poopoo so will hopefully do goid poopoo.

Whether they're head-gaming or not it would be more important to show FDev there is insane interest in Goid content by clearing this thing in a couple days than the possible "minor benefit" of some temporary extra goid activity in Witch Head.

I thought so too but it doesn't look like it. The first day is already over and only 5% of the total goal has been achieved with only 775 commanders participating. Each tier needs 16 billion combat bonds ( or 20% per tier) and the CG isn't anywhere near T2 yet. T2 is the point where at least one system is protected.

Doesn't look good, looks like the module wasn't enough. This may be a stupid question but are the AXI guys participating? Because judging from the data so far I might think most of them aren't.

Here is what is being cut short:
1 Guardian Module Blueprint Segment
21 Guardian Power Cell
21 Guardian Technology Component
24 Focus Crystals
8 HN Shock Mount
And a grade 4 booster is worth 3.1m Cr.

As @Znort pointed out correctly: In order to do some damage, one would have to unlock some guardian tech.
Plus: Scouts have 77% resistance to conventional human weapons.
Kill reward: 10k

A new player can achieve the same reward by spending 30 mins at the guardian site shooting stuff, heaps less risk.

If you look here: https://inara.cz/galaxy-communitygoals/
to gain into the 75%, one newbie would have to kill at least 9 scouts. With conventional weapons.
Unless - if they are smart - they grab some AX turrets, then they might cut that duration of shooting bullet sponges down to some extent.
Needless to say that number of 9 kills is meant to go up as time progresses, so more kills are needed.
And for what reward?
To skip a 30 minute trip to a guardian site and rover around, killing 4 or 5 sentinels.

I'm with you OP. Bring back the AXCZ.

Might be... The weekend is yet to start here in the EU

Do they still class as an Elite kill?
Pug
Not any longer, Pug... But probably as Dangerous / Deadly.

There was a bit about it in the news section on Combat Balancing recently - but we weren't told what rank they'd be considered as now.
