you don't feel like you've had any value from buying this in 2017?
divide the amount of hours played in Horizons by your 30usd
then ask yourself if it was worth the purchase all those years ago
the problen not in that, by your logic, i only have permission to discuss such ty decision ONLY if i buyed it recently? Yes, I enjoyed that a lot, and i feel dumped 'cause other pilots can now have experience on that for free. It feels like i payed for a free to play game on kickstarter and etc
but what I don't understand is why you would measure value on other peoples experiences over your own
you say you enjoyed it a lot, so that's 30usd well spent for the last 3 years
you then ignore that enjoyment because what, someone else somewhere else gets the option of horizons from today? why would that ruin 3 years worth of enjoyment?

And what if i buyed it, for example, yesterday, was your opinion different in that way? Your metrics are pretty misunderstandble, the longer discussion is meaningless. The devs literally saying, that payed DLC cost low-quality layout, no matter, how long you have it.

If you had bought it yesterday then you wouldn't have paid 30usd for it, its also been common knowledge that this has been coming for a while now
but that's all irrelevant isn't it because no matter what is said you will feel the same way, I just don't understand it given that :
- this is nothing new and happens in all forms of entertainment
- you have already stated that you have enjoyed the last 3 years
- you are measuring value on ifs and maybes instead on actual experience

Have you heard about discounts? Do you feel dumped when someone gets the same thing as you on a discount? Its not the year of being mean.
But like every other year that preceded it, it is the year of being stupid.
If I had bought it at full price shortly before the announcement then I would feel a bit hard done by because if I had dithered over the purchase a little longer I wouldn't have had to pay, life is like that.
As I bought Horizons for about £35 pounds a few months before you did I feel no more aggrieved that people now get it for nothing than I was about people buying it for a fifth of what I paid every time there was a sale since then.
There's a difference between a discount, and free-forever.
Imagine you paid for a flight, then the airline made every other seat free, or you buy a life-time pass for access to a gallery, and they make it free entry.
Horizons being necessary for Odyssey is one thing. Just dumping it for free onto the market is an entirely different move.
Now we've established the non-Horizons base game is still accessible, the argument makes even less sense.
Buy Odyssey without Horizons? Cool. Get Horizons stuff too!
Get Horizons for free for no apparent reason? Uhh...
