Any confirmation of this? I saw it claimed a few times that WEST was translated to OUEST in french, but have yet to see any screenshots proving this. Until then, there's no reason to assume these letters are correct or meaningful.
I was wondering how exactly you found that system...I'm asking because I'm not very experienced in the nitty-gritty details on the Galaxy Map and would really like to know your process....I tried to have only A stars selected and looked b/w Chukchan and Coalsack and was waaaaaay off lol

Nope.
They are apart of a group of settlements that were found that had something to do with a certain group/company of people. They are all on the Canonn website or ED Wiki listed if you want to go check them all out.

Interestingly the french translation has the line breaks in slightly different places as a result of the West/Ouest switch, which confirms that the line breaks after '-'s are just line breaks, not spaces in the message itself.

(In this case, one tries to avoid spoilers for people something might be new for.
)The way I found it was, the final log at the ship (at an A star where something went wrong) starts with "1.. ly ..." I interpreted that as indicating that the system was between 100 and 199 ly from somewhere. Tracing back from Chukchan along the line of three systems mentioned in Galnet, there are only like five A-class stars in the right location. I knew I was in the right place when I saw it was full of fleet carriers, but even without that there weren't many to search.
