About that double-engineered FSD reward for the CG...

Do we know for a fact that the optimal mass effects will stack for both increased range and faster boot sequence (heh... mass effect)?
We don't know for a fact that the optimal mass multiplier will stack, but it seems unlikely that it won't and there would probably be a bit of rage from everyone who hammered the CGs to get the super FSD. 😆

I was quite excited when the double engineered FSD was announced, but i don't really think it will have more range than a normal increased ranged FSD.
It will have the same range, but it will boot faster (2s) and it will generate 20% more heat because of that... And for some people it will not worth the trouble

Let's hope that this is so, otherwise I will write an angry letter to the developers for their violation of game mechanics.

Despite the mind-numbing hauling I've done the past 3 days, I hope you're right. Having roughly 2000* players gain an exclusive reward of this magnitude over everyone else seems unfair, if only because so many other people who could've put in the work simply didn't get the chance to. It's mostly about right place, right time.

I would still like to see another ship go farther than the Anaconda some day, if only so I can have an excuse to ditch my sluggish boat when going in low star density places... but not like this

*forgot to include our AX bros, though there's likely some overlap

(Lightweight doesn't really confer a significant combat advantage).

On smaller, critically mass constrained ships, it does.

My guess is that it has a G5 Increased Range blueprint and a custom Fast Boot experimental.

The experimental seems to be replaceable on the missile rack without affecting the underlying mods. I expect the same trend to hold for the FSD.

The developers dictate the game's mechanisms.

You might be justified in complaining about the imbalance it introduces and/or the item's exclusivity, but complaining that it plays by different rules, when that is the entire point, seems rather spurious.

I'm not normally one to vent...but bear with me a minute. I was 22,000 light years down in the far flung bottom of the Formidine Rift. I caught wind of this CG and desperately wanted this FSD for my DBX. I abandoned what I was doing and buckyballed back to the bubble and began hauling. I reached 50% last night and gave up for the evening. I logged on this afternoon to see that a CG that was only barely past Tier 3 when I went to bed last night is already done. So, in short...despite all of the previous CG's where FC could be balanced in regards to trade volume, this one managed to last a measely two days? AND the unlock requirement is 50% higher than the previous special rewards?

I feel so stupid right now. I mean, I made 50 mil so it wasn't a total waste of time, but my goodness does this feel poorly handled.

@Stephen Benedetti , any chance that this could be rolled back to be 75% like the others? If not, why was this unlock 50% higher than the others?

Frontier still haven't really got that right, though.

The first pair of trade CGs with FCs (refinery upgrades), like this one, ended on Sunday with 30M tonnes of cargo delivered.

The second trade CG with FCs (refugee supplies) ended on Wednesday with 33M tonnes of cargo delivered out of what ended up being a very ambitious 50M goal (and that was reduced from an original 80M target!).

This one is back to ending on Sunday with 30M delivered.

Maybe with a few more attempts they will be able to balance trade CG targets to FCs and other player interest ... but unlike some of the other CG types they've missed every one so far.

Right....which is why I said "could" instead of "were." They've had how many times now to get it sorted?

I probably could have worded it more betterer....just very frustrated at the moment. I was convinced that I'd have the afternoon today to make the top 25%.

When does the module get unlocked? I turned in the CG and I don't see the drive available for transfer yet... hope it doesn't screw me out of receiving mine for having already turned in the transaction.

Probably on thursday with the maintenance, the new stations should go live then too.

If successful, Sirius Atmospherics in conjunction with the Sirius Corporation is offering the top 25% of pilots a fully engineered long range fast boot, size 5 FSD which will be placed in storage in the Spirit of Nysa by the 21st of November 3306.
Might be earlier, especially that the CG ended sooner, but it's not tied to weekly server maintaince.
You should receive an ingame email when it's ready.

Three counting this one.

First one: 2x15M targets (which would have been ambitious pre-FCs) - easily done
Second one: 1x80M target reduced to 1x50M target - got 33M
Third one: 1x30M target - easily done

So ... based on that, how much will be delivered next time? I certainly have no idea.
Agreed that it's no good if they end too soon or too late.

(2019s pre-FC trade goals varied wildly between 5M and 40M, so maybe the lesson is that trade CGs are really unpredictable and Frontier should be a lot more willing to adjust targets up and down for them based on how the first day looks)

Maybe its part of the plan. To check how much a nice reward will push people.
Also maybe they wanted to make sure the CG is getting to final tier.

Giving a juicy reward only to top25% assured that a lot of people pulled really hard to get there and as a result it ended faster.
I wouldn't be surprised if 70-75% of those 30 millions were delivered by those 25%

What worries me, is that the Spirit of Nysa has no outfitting. So how does it have module storage ? I guess the only way to actually get our FSD is to have it transferred out of there. My carrier stays put until the 21st.

It might be put into storage at some other station owned by Sirius Corporation or Sirius Atmospherics. Also, who knows, Outfitting might also magically appear in Spirit of Nysa.
No need to worry.

I got top 10% in the ax but only 50% in the trade. FC would of been useful for the trade. One Fsd is better then no fsd. If getting two is a thing from what Iv read on here it is

They should have given us a smaller size FSD, like 3 or something. It could be fun to tinker around with smaller ships but doubtful that they'd become better than the current explorers so no unfair advantages. And imo less boring than making the already meta ships even better..
If we end up with a 80Ly DXB that is kind of messed up, especially if the precedent continues.
