Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

So bounty missions give you some sort of market or coordinates to where the target is? Because that would be cool and something i feel ED needs.

Yes, if you take a pvp bounty, you will get a marker on the "map" view of where the bounty is all the time. And almost all the time the bounty will have a target outlining their location on your screen.

It is too overpowered in favor of the bounty hunter at this point in terms of finding the bounty. However it is really easy for the bounty to run away if they are in a ship and don't want to fight.

If you get into an on foot situation, and a bounty hunter is perusing you, you are pretty much done for. The bounty hunter essentially has a wall hack marker for you.

It is possible to turn of the local Comm Array. In that case the bounty hunter will have the bounties marker in the map view, but they loose the wall hack marker.

(pretty sure it works like that with the comm array, been a bit since I've messed with it)

So folks, the annual milking of citizens begins today.

Remember to buy the ships WHILE STOCKS LAST!

Obsidian Ant just linked a video of a star citizen person promoting free elite to those people.

Are they going to come over? Are we going to end up with frontiers best financial year in history and all these crazies who make factabulous and bottom hat seem like they're friendly little kittens?

Can they go away instead?

Or am i missing something and star citizen people aren't actually doing what the outside world thinks they're doing?

DigThat32 videos are really cool but I do not think his 20K subscribers in Youtube (as impressive as that is) is going to make a dent in space sim gamer trends.

My guess is that most SC backers interested in Elite have alread a copy by now (and viceversa). I think Epic´s free offer is going to probably make more of an impact in bringing some new gamers that have not yet tried either SC/ED, or Elite players interested in an extra account.

Well coming from a design backround and having backed the game since the first concepts came out i must say u struck gold with this one CIG.

You see, all those backers that complain about ED's flying wedges really appreicate them!

Hehe, nice one.

And still hardly any comments in the ED thread regarding the Epic store release.

Nah, Department of Social Security. Jeez, IT projects there are so badly managed. Of course, they give the jobs to the lowest bidders, who know they can't deliver in the time they say they can for the money they say in the RFP, the projects take years, and they get extended and extended, while the managers on the DSS side, despite them always being fixed price/fixed scope, have to put in RFCs because the laws change year on year, so time gets extended, functionality gets changed, and the contrator rakes it in anyway, because its too late to pull out and the government has already invested millions of taxpayer money.

The parallels with CIG are actually quite stark.
It's been the department for work and pensions for a while now.

3:29 view looks....familiar :D

I get designs can converge but its a little too much like 'the other game'.

I will say though that the scale is better in the Nomad. Not the giant Crystal Palace cockpit.
