Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

IIRC the Jira I'm familiar with has Roadmapping and Reporting built in, or available as add-ons (depending on use case). It shouldn't take a rocket scientist to get a suitable output from that tool for Stakeholder consumption. A few man days tops unless you're trying to hide something. Of course you also need to make sure you have the correct licensing...

Yes but those are accurate reports.

CIG has to re-tool to allow CIG to introduce spin, ie. on a task by task basis:
1. Change the % completion
2. Hide some tasks that make CIG look bad
3. Add some tasks not yet in Jira (eg. in CR's noggin) to make CIG look good
4. In general, make ad hoc changes to the accurate report for public consumption

And if you think I'm just trolling or being sarcastic, think again.

pseudo random. just like the bognogus clip.

in the complete middle of nowhere, no. somewhat close to outpost, yes.

not right next to the outpost, probably within 20 - 50km is about as far as i'd fly out.

the number that truly go out in the middle of nowhere has got to be pretty small.
Except for me of course...which is invariably why I don't get 'visited' too much when I'm mining ;)

Amongst all the duplicate "Elite on Epic store" posts I've been moderating, this thread's comment sections has been a barrel of reports and moderation; already banned one account for getting too emotional and offensive:

Is it just me or does the middle left view look like an origami roast turkey?

Obsidian Ant just linked a video of a star citizen person promoting free elite to those people.

Are they going to come over? Are we going to end up with frontiers best financial year in history and all these crazies who make factabulous and bottom hat seem like they're friendly little kittens?

Can they go away instead?

Or am i missing something and star citizen people aren't actually doing what the outside world thinks they're doing?

The whole risk vs reward thing fdev is rolling out is really getting under peoples skin this much?

Cyberpunk 2077 vs Star Citizen...

Newest CP2077 Footage Is Cringe

Particularly compared to what Star Citizen is doing, it just looks dated and minimal effort to me. No innovative game design, cringey character animations and dialog, scripted fetch/kill formulaic "quest" design.

It might have been a cool game ten years ago, but it doesn't press any of my buttons today.

Maybe SC's quest design and character animations will make Cyberpunk 2077 look like an amateur project, but given we have no idea how those will pan out (and considering how shoddy its current implementation is), I'd say it is a bit too soon to make that statement.

Based on what we saw from the Idris engineer's 'breakaway' conversation (the one where they showed you talking to him and then walking away mid conversation) I'd say that Star Citizen is light years ahead of any other game...I just hope to see that stuff in the 'Verse and not just in SQ42. I'm sure they will add when/if they can.

On top of that if you add the procedurally generated content, I just don't see any other game coming close.

The only thing other games have on Star Citizen is a release date.

The content creator that OA linked is DigThat32: a longtime Elite Dangerous fan & player who added Star Citizen content to his video production a year or so ago.

"obsessive " ?

From a thread with about 12.000 posts explaining how bad SC is ;) (and I just count those from the v12, not before).

Thats not what this thread is about...you should know that by now but hey, beat that dead horse eh? :)

edit: also 600 pages is very cool, thanks to all the SC fans for their continous support and input ^^
