Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Hobby shooter here too :D Well if one draws straight line from front side blade to rear sights they may about just align. Not very good I say.
As the Space Cowboy I am more interested in firing from the hip, no need for sights, just a decent rifling of the barrel and a hair trigger, I think I will pass for my Colt 45.

Even that non-firearm gun, say laser/phaser/blaster and so on stuff need to be ergonomic and follow certain design philosophies. You will need it to be one you can aim and carry. And be reasonable safe against unintended discharge. So some kind of shielded trigger. I once remembered reading stuff in certain Asimov's fiction of blaster havin thumb trigger. Good luck making it safe against unintended discharge....real weapons have trigger guard for good reasons. And forefinger trigger is ambidextrous...

The ammunition would have to be smart as the iron sights not only don't line up with the barrell but it doesn't even look like you can even see the front sight when aiming because of the pointless hump over the breach.
As someone who shoots as a hobby and owns two rifles and three pistols, I would not give that heap of junk a second glance.

ok, sure.

so why do you thing you would not be able to line up the front and rear sights?

Wow, it's even worse from that angle. How do you hold this thing? What if you want to dry the hair on the left side of your head as well?

<troll> heh. Looks like the mods are counting sheep on this one. <br /> 'cording to the poster above me, the number of posts is 3,201 above the officially unofficial 10k post limit. </troll> :p

OK top ejecting, right handed people only, why those heavy side panels? Those side panels will prevent spent case going anywhery but straight back towards shooter. Bolt seems to be rotating one, otherwise it will not cycle. So gas operated as I can not see how it could be recoil operated. Where is gas piston located, or is it by direct impingement. Though upper part seems to me that atleast on left side there is no cut that would allow bolt to rotate, maybe on right side. What that ridge on back part of bolt does anyways?

The weapon looks about as dangerous as a flintlock pistol... but only to the person firing it...

I love seeing conceptual designs of firearms done by graphic artists who should have stuck to designing Pico plushies and seat cushions 🤨

Yep, top ejecting. That is why the 1894 Winchester has such a bad reputation in the firearms community.

Look at this, it is awful

Well proper flintlock pistol is pretty dangerous, it can kill one pretty dead even today. Humans usually do not like of getting hit with balls of lead flying at high speeds. It is kind of funny misconception. Obsolete weapon being not dangerous....
