ANNOUNCEMENT Game Balancing Pt.3

Anything that says the BGS should be open only needs to be shut down straight away. I haven't seen a single good argument for having the BGS open only yet.
If another player group fights your BGS faction in private, there's no way to stop them. You should be able to fight the people that are actively affecting your faction, but at the moment a group can go into solo/private and wreck your faction's status, with no way to stop them.

What about differing platforms and instancing, timezones and network issues? Apart from Wars and CZs my novice impression of the BGS is that manipulation of is it indirect PvP. Not every political and economic problems can be fixed with hardpoints.

in nearly 2 years of professional AX hunting I have made almost 5 Billion on Thargoids but I have also spent +2 Billion on ships and +500 Million on rebuys, I took hundreds of hours to learn but most of all I am defending Humanity from Thargoids and thanks to people like myself the Bubble is not burning. the Cr balance is positive but it gives me around 2 Billion savings after two years and 3.5K hours in the game. mining requires no skill or engineering and the payout per hour was many times higher, it was not fair to see truckers with 100 Billion balance made with relatively little effort.

I am very glad to see that I don't have to go mining to be able to afford a Fleet Carrier. and all those professional miners who complain about the payout revamp should be ashamed, you are just being petty, don't you have enough? go wipe your tears with hundred dollar bills

This doesn't seem to logically follow. I mean, if they can have all this influence from private/solo, why can't you?

The changes thus far have been great, but isn't there any room left io the schedule to buff black market prices? The balance changes do nothing to reward players who prefer the less-than-legal roads to riches. In fact, it's nerfed us.

This keeps up, I may have to (shudder) go legit.

I think this remains one of the biggest red herrings out there. Making BGS activities open only would not mean you can necessarily defend your factions better as there are many more ways than solo/pg for your adversaries to hide from you: instancing, ignore list, pc vs console, or just simply playing at different hours from you. It is not viable to sit and guard your system 24/7 and even if you do the other issues makes it uncertain that you will actually encounter your foes. That time would therefore be better spent working on your own BGS activities rather than trying to disrupting those of people working against you.

Then there is also the fact that I strongly doubt FDev would ever mae part of the gameplay open exclusive.

Sorry, but that's not a good argument. You fight them using the BGS, the exact same way they are fighting you. Blowing up law abiding ships in the system you support only hurts your own faction. That is not a good reason for open only. If anything, its the opposite.

Well said CMDR!

This AX payout buff is a great step to getting CMDRs involved with Combat. However, in my opinion, the time invested into killing harder variant interceptors should be buffed a little bit higher as it takes around 45 minutes to single-handedly kill a Medusa and around 1 hour or more to single-handedly kill a Hydra. The 4x payout multiplier is a good introduction to Cyclops and Basilisks, but Medusas and Hydras should be rewarded with a 5x and 6-7x payout multiplier respectively.

All the changes coming out seem to be positive so far. Good work.
Combat pay needs to be buffed further. It has the highest risk in open+solo, and doesn't compare yet to deep core mining which has practically zero risk in solo play.
I don't think the lowest level enemies need much if any buff, but the higher level opponents need a bump.

I also wonder if damage done to the ship should be more of a factor so that brand new sidewinders can't shoot a fully engineered anaconda one time and pull in a year's salary while the feds do all the work.

It's not even necessarily just the time investment of the fight, itself. Hunting interceptors in general requires a lot of synthesis, with Medusas often requiring a Gauss reload, and Hydras virtually always requiring Gauss reloads. Getting materials to synthesize ammo alone, let alone just the mats to synthesize the constant heatsink cover required of AX combat is quite a time sink.

This needs to be reflected in the payouts. Cyclops and Basilisks are at an alright place, but Medusas and Hydras need a bit more of an increase.

I really hope that other NPCs and CZ activities will see a pay buff as well. Routing a cap ship only rewards 500k (granted it's rather easy right now) and difficult stuff like the spec ops wing don't pay well either. Compared to bounty hunting this buff seems very lack luster.

I totally agree with this, and still sometimes the bonds are attributed to the opposition...

Thargoid combat bonds will provide 4x as many credits as before.

The experience gained from Thargoids which contributes to Combat rank has been re-scaled. This means that Thargoid scouts will provide less than before, however each interceptor will offer more than the last, all the way up to Hydras. The exact amount earned will vary according to the number of pilots who contribute to the kill as well as their various combat ranks.

Cool beans! Good to be able to break even on AX combat. It does make me wish there was an in-between Thargoid type between the scouts and the interceptors, as they are very different to fight. Scouts are more like your standard "mobs" while each interceptor is its own little boss fight. Maybe Thargoids will soon see the amazing benefit of medium-sized ships too?

We don't consider scouts to be difficult enough to warrant the Elite ranking/experience. Hopefully the additional experience that will be gained from the interceptors will somewhat make up for this, but require more skill on the players' part.

In a line, the problem was there was no scaling in difficult/reward which we've added. If the length of the grind for getting Combat Elite is an issue, we can discuss that but as a wider issue.

The rank "grind" is not an issue. That was what made the original Elite so great - it felt like quite the achievements to pass the Dangerous and above milestones. Trade and Exploration ranking could be inflated a bit, however, to fit with combat ranking.

The ease of scouts compared to the relative difficulty of their bigger brethren is an issue. As mentioned before, perhaps adding something in-between scouts and interceptors would be a useful solution? I suggest a plainer and slightly smaller octogonal vessel than the interceptors. It's weaponry might be not much better than the scouts, but it is able to launch 1 - 5 scouts if threatened. That may seem hauntingly familiar to some, too...

I'm talking about the fact that it doesn't matter how much the players earn. You are all Saldafons with the same face, that the killers of the players, that the soldiers ... WE ARE PAYED A LITTLE ... so you are a soldier for what? For what you want or to get paid? I NEVER SAID THAT I LIKE MINING! But I liked the money from him ... And now it was taken away by banal arbitrariness ... It is not clear why ... The very presence of billions of credits in the game from the players does not bring anything bad into the game if people have something to do. And in order to have something to do in the current Elite system, developers must constantly hold events. THE WEIGHT OF THIS NERF AND REBALANCE is aimed at only one thing .... Stretch the gameplay so that developers can do less in the form of events!

I’ve been playing the game for about 7 months now and I feel bad for new players because you left them no room to grow .
New players can’t fight Thargoids with a sidewinder, they can’t bounty hunting in a adder you tried to get new people by making the game free however most of them will quit after they get sent to the REBUY screen while they don’t have no money .
