Gotta admit; I was interested enough to try and watch the Games Awards 2020 stream.
But tapped out on that about 15m in and looked at the trailer the next day.
This looks really interesting.
A lot more interesting then developers doing quasi-racetrack racing in an SRV in order to hype up the Horizons launch.
The First Person Shooter crowd is a huge chunk of the gaming market.
Now personally I'm one of those oldskool kind of players that prefers verticality in level design with lava everywhere -- and being able to rocketjump over that lava (or out of it if you happen to fall into it), but Elite isn't that kind of game with that kind of setting.
I'm getting a vibe of Tribes gameplay. Maybe Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, from what I remember seeing. Never played Planetside, but I suppose it could be crudely referred to as the MMO variant of Tribes?
If Frontier Developments manages to nail one of those three categories of gameplay...

If you look more closely at the pre-order bonus description it says '...exclusive Pioneer suit skin' my italics. I think it is more likely to be a cosmetic upgrade rather than a totally different suit. Isn't there already a Pioneer ship paint job? Could be we will be able to buy matching suit and ship designs ...
