Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Achered wholesale from SA:
Not the result I wanted… said:
I was just selected to take part in a closed beta to test Open AI, one of the most advanced artificial intelligences currently in development. After I had toyed around with it a little I asked the question we'd all like to know: What does it think about Star Citizen.

I'd like to mention that these were the actual results, none of that was scripted or re-written. I had a couple of attempts to get the AI on the right track actually talking about Star Citizen but that's it.

Oh my. :ROFLMAO:

CP2077 is not the subject, it's just a means to justify the sorry state of SC.
Plus, every one of them has not even played even one second of CP2077. 70 hours and more here: yeah there are some graphical glitches here and there, some quest triggers that wont trigger properly under some circumstances (just like in every other open world RPG ever just after release...), but otherwise it's a fantastic game, and it's RELEASED. As for their criticism on the PS4 port of said game: dear SC fanatics, how is Star Citizen looking on PS4 ?
Oh and CP2077 does run fine on a good gaming PC with the fps counter going 70+ with excellent graphics, running RTX ultra/psycho here with everything maxed (and yeah, they are far superior to any console port, the amount of objects present on screen is staggering) - while Star Citizen brings my 3090 to its knees at 30-40 fps in its cities without any ray tracing by the way, and said cities only include a very small explorable map. CP2077 has got a full scale city and its surroundings, which you can explore all the way, every building, street, overpass, tunnel is there for you to walk through or over, you can even parkour some parts (obviously not the business district skyscrapers, but the "japan town" for example), every NPC you walk by has their own path and occupation, no they are not T-posing or standing on chairs... So please, enforce that rule, CP2077 discussions should happen in its own thread, it's a released game, and vastly different, while so far much broader in content and scope than anything CiG has "delivered". Comparisons will only hurt cultist egos even more as they are NOT flattering for Star Citizen.
By the way, CP2077 was announced 8 years ago but they didnt start working on it before they ended the last TW3 expansion, that was around 2015. That makes about 5 years of development. Stop with those "8 years" otherwise we will bring the CRoberts "IN GAME FOOTAGE" bluff from end of 2011.

I hope you see the hypocrisy with that in this thread (not specifically aimed at you, just generally here) 😉

Well release a product sunshine. Then all us eager consumers can opt in.

Currently this tier of buggy alpha doesn’t look that appealing:

Nor does the P2W potential, or the dubious macro-pre-selling, or any of the other stuff that people can very legitimately criticise from the sidelines. As much as it pains you ;)

Oh, they are pushing referrals again.

Strange, they should be swimming in cash after the recent event. Unless.... they didn't make that much money or had creditors they needed to pay off.

But yeah, great. Convince people to pledge money for this buggy alpha. Honesty is not recommended. Barefaced misrepresentation of actual state of the game is highly encouraged.

SC should. If they want to start working away at that long list of failings which legitimately keep gamers away from it, and in a critical stance.

And nope. That’s a British term of endearment xx
Sure they do, but what does that have to do with what I said?

SC isn’t something to really play daily imo, unless you’ve got masochistic tendencies 😁
See, that's what I'm asking for. If the daily player count is quite low compared to backer numbers, what is keeping this thing going if it's not the game itself?
If the numbers line up, all well and good.
So is the data for player numbers accessible?

The f should I know?

Well what you said didn’t make any sense. (Surefoot said a thing, and you acted like the whole thread had said it, so you could attack everyone. As usual.)

But presumably what you were trying to say was: To criticise SC, you have to have played it.

I was just pointing out that that's bunk too. There are lots of legit grounds for criticising SC from afar. You don't need to experience its toilet gameplay first :)

That’s not what I said, I was talking about double standards
