Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

I think its perfect timing for the road map, coming up to Xmas, just in time to rake in peoples Xmas cash. I am expecting 4.0 on the road map for delivery in Q1 2021. Doesn't matter what is in 4.0 the key is to keep in sync with another game.

Surely you're not suggesting CIG try and keep their patch numbers ahead of a certain other game's?

SC 1.0 - 19/12/2014
Other 1.0 - 16/12/2014

SC 2.0 - 11/12/2015
Other 2.0 - 15/12/2015

SC 3.0 - 23/12/2017
Other 3.0 - 27/02/2018

And that's just the point zero patches. The pattern continues with the point patches as well.

It really is pathetic. Someone at CIG must be giving instructions to ensure the ALPHA patch number remains ahead of the RELEASE patch number of other game.

It just reeks of desperation and insecurity.

That is truly sad if its the case, and funny too because it means CiG are taking OtherGame™ as a yardstick and not their own.

We know this from CR's statements anyway. He loves to compare SC to other games (and smack talking them down to make SC look better).

Remember in 2014 CR said he would put SQ42 up against any other AAA game out there! Because SQ42 was so close to release and in such a good state apparently! Its only taking another 6+ years because Chris is a perfectionist you FUDster!

Ok, so this bit of SC lore is new to me.

Yup, apparently gravity is piped around the ship.

This naturally leads to questions like... why doesn't everything get pulled towards the pipes where it is flowing?

What if the pipes leak causing "gravity" to escape all of the ship? Does it clump up? Does it pull citizens apart?

So many questions?

Is this CIG's dumbest lore idea to date is perhaps a pertinent question!

How else would it be piped? It's what they do in the LHC :D

@Agony_Aunt
Cynicism is a family trait - LOL. If I were to speculate I would suspect that their combat FPS that got previewed will see a release in the spring and my intuition says it was developed as a way to try and one up what FD were planning.

I'll wet myself laughing when the beta tests roll out for Ody...Other Game™ playing and (mostly, P2P nonwithstanding) we see a ToW like experience.

Is that some sort of delicacy in Britain?
That pair of words conjures up a mental image of severely lacking personal hygiene regarding female private parts...
Its a steamed fruit pudding, south of Hadrian's wall we would just have treacle, but the Scots put more effort in and add fruit and a few other extras.

I wonder how much shade FD were throwing CIG's way when they came up with the phrase Spheres of Combat

Theatres of War was apparently in a good state over a year ago... and yet, still not released.

Well its going to look bad for CiG and heap on the pressure if the Faithful start seeing OtherGame™ do what it was supposed to do. The last line of defence will be the level of fidelity offered (which is higher in SC certainly, but at a cost of melting GPUs and networking overhead).

How much network bandwidth are they using? Is there some sort of analysis around?
