Leaving your ship? How?

Do you have a link, or even a hint on where I might find it? I have not heard of this and would like to listen to it.

I don't, and I've been trying to find it again too. Think it was a Lave Radio episode, but they've either removed it or have gotten even more coy about it existing at all. They talk from the perspective of ED being a finished product, and the latest patch has introduced everything from space legs to dinosaur big game hunting.

If you get in a SRV and leave the ship, you get a dark screen from ship to SRV and then you are popping up in your SRV and use the elevator to get to the ground.
Anyone knows how this will work when we are on foot?
Do I have to push a button and suddenly I'm in a elevator to the ground? Or do we get a small "scripted animation" of the commander leaving his chair and then change the view to the outside?
Any thoughts on this or anything already known
Since they won't be doing walking around ship interiors yet I'm going out on a limb here and make the following guess:

You somehow select leave ship on foot, fade to black. Fade in with you in the airlock (if you have one). This gives you the option of changing your mind if you see something dangerous outside (maybe other players as you look out the door window), turn and click the open button on the inner door of the airlock and you fade back into your seat. Otherwise you open the airlock and walk down stairs/take elevator down, walk away. I have to assume you can dismiss your ship if necessary for all the appropriate reasons. Reverse for going back in to the ship.

You should NOT just fade into existence by the footpad of your ship or fade out as you re-enter the ship. Just my 2 cents, of course. I'm sure we'll see how this all pans out once the Beta is released. If they're going to fade in/fade out under your ship they should at least include the Star Trek sparkly transporter effect. If not, my proposed guess above would make more sense.

It is just a matter of principal. I did not pre-order as there is not enough information about whole ED:O. But you do not offer pre-orders on the product that does not exist. At this stage ED:O is few video snippets w/o any meet in them... So for me it is actually a fraud... I vote with my wallet...
It's a subjective point of view that each player can only answer for themselves.

Me, with ED I'v had the best value for money, in the six years Iv been playing, than any other game I have EVER purchased in my 40+ years of gaming. Yes, I got my pre-order:D
So even if ED:O turns out to be a huge disappointment to me, I'll still be content on playing the game as I've always done.
Now there's a lot of other games past & present that I wouldn't even get them for free, some I've paid full price & only played for 1 month......you listening X4!

The Devs have said "no cut-scenes" in one of the AMA's, I am assuming scripted animation will be a cut-scene so I doubt that will happen, I expect it will be just like the SRV experience and SLF experience, we will just appear on the ground as if we walked down. Mind you I was wondering, if you leave the ship in an SRV can you then leave the SRV to walk around, I would expect this to be a thing but I can't recall having seen in specifically mentioned.

Cannot see it being ramp, more likely a cut scene.
Surely the same system needs to be used for stations and outposts as landing on planet, do not see how the walking down ramp function would work in a station - to get us to the social hub.

Hope I am wrong though.

That would be the only approach that will guarantee a Neil Armstrong moment* (but with the same short animation i was mentioning)...

* assuming it is not done for the first time in a Cutter cause that will turn into a really long and awkward Neil Armstrong moment
One fade in for mankind

For me, the only logical way would be:
-open the 3rd panel, select "exit ship"
-camera moves away from cockpit chair
-fade to black
-fade in to cargo hatch opening and a ramp extending into outside floor
-camera moves with player while he walks out of the ramp.

The opened ramp would be the place where you could return to ship.
-Step into the ramp, select "board ship" in the 3rd panel.
-fade to black while the player walks up the ramp
-fade in while moving into cockpit chair.
should be good enough for me. as long as we can't walk in the rest of the ship
But leaving the ship on your feet is nice
