FDev clickbaited you all with a teaser into preordering.
OA clickbaited you to spare a few min of your time.
A) Didnt pre-order
B) Didn't watch the video.
Only reason im here is to see what OP's whining about today.

Did they?FDev clickbaited you all with a teaser into preordering.
Throwin a bone was enough for you, huh?Did they?
I, for one, needed no bait to pre-order... but I suppose, being a responsible adult, such behaviour wouldn't be socially acceptable among a certain subset of today's society![]()
PassiveNo, much better that we use CDPR as a scapegoat for literally everything in the industry from now on, right?
Look what happened to cp2077! That explains FDev's delay!
I'm just joking but I think the video's got absolutely nothing in it worth sharing. Except him admitting there's no substance at all to what he's saying. I mean that bit was genuine.
Ps the delay just means I'll get to play cp2077 more![]()
Well, if we are here just to discuss the delay, it is an even bigger waste of space than normal on this forum...
"Frontier has delayed release of Odyssey"
"Oh, OK"
End of story - endless debate and constant mudslinging isn't going to change it...
Be grown-up, it is delayed because Frontier have decided such, that is all.

B) Didn't watch the video.

I really appreciate your generous and considerate contribution...Throwin a bone was enough for you, huh?
No i stop arguing with you. Im tired of the same poopoo that comin out of your mouth.
Next you call it classy to preorder on a whim and that you won some internet argument or something..
Well merry, you go round.

Are you sure?Yes, i don't think anyone would be denying this. This would be trying to catch the dust cloud.
Are you sure?
Only tricky part might be .... those console dev kits and cross-compiling for them ... which might explain why the console versions are more delayed?
I don't - and obviously you don't either.I can't speak for anyone else but for me its as clear as you describe it. Do you honestly think frontier are going to melt in a puddle, start crying, and then.. do what to the odysee release?
I don't - and obviously you don't either.
The multiple topics and their responses appear to indicate that others may not be as clear-cut in their comprehension.
Thats what i was trying to do before the original title got moderated out.
For the record, i don't think badly of obsidian ant, and please be nice because he sounds like he means well. If anything, i was impressed that someone was brave enough to make a social media content officially saying what many of us are thinking (at the risk of white knight bashing and being taken off the $500 marketing bribes list). He got a "like" from me for that.
Anecdotal evidence but we deployed within a week where I work. Kind of janky configuration management, though. Most companies didn't have the technical infrastructure to support their entire staff working remotely, and many still don't.
You can't magically go from a central code repo with 0 VPN infra to magically having everybody working from home like no big deal in a day, week or even a month.
Buying things takes time, building systems takes time, FDev like many companies probably didn't want to spend the money for the "two weeks to flatten the curve" to build the infrastructure for a fully remote workforce.
Second lockdown happened and they probably only had a certain capacity, staff quitting / laid off / sick or the like. This is really the norm for most companies, even technology companies.
A business is designed to run at the lowest possible cost with the highest revenue, you don't invest in 5000 VPN licenses when I less you're a fully remote company and having to source that during a pandemic isn't easy.
Most of those 'honest viewpoints' being the ones that accuse them of being liars, incompetent, inept and any other defamations I may have missed? To that one would say everyone has a right to their view. If frontier was professional about it at the very least the next meeting arthur is involved in he has the scope of honest viewpoints to report back to the managers / developers.
Hehe, same here. Before first lockdown we had around 10-15% of users working remotely. When first lockdown hit us we flipped everything and we have 85%+ users working from home/remotely. It took us few weeks - we are 22k+ employee business...Anecdotal evidence but we deployed within a week where I work. Kind of janky configuration management, though.

I too would prefer to be buried in playing the alpha today, rather than waiting an indeterminate length of time to do so, but also would prefer to not having had 9 months or so of having my own routines disrupted by a Pandemic that forced those changes. Frontier have been forced to delay the release of the Odyssey DLC as a result of the effects of the Pandemic on their organisation, do you consider they are lying to us?
And this evidence is where? There's evidence that console ports were strongly correlated with graphical downgrades in the pc version of elite.
