A new Hogan-class bulk cargo megaship named "Future Dreams" settled down next to the new Kippax Foundation planetary outpost in Hyades Sector RO-P B6-6. Funny names.

I get the feeling the two fdev teams didn't talk to each other - one changed the target amounts, and the other added RES sites for combat

I wouldn't be surprised if the combat target went up again today. Trade CG seems to have been tweaked to make it less likely to succeed - 5% is pretty low for a first day, would normally be more like 8-10%. Interesting.

Hah... of course...

It's an interesting contrast in the CGs - last week you had to find a relatively rare resource and do at least a 28k LY round-trip to gather samples (or organise travel with FC) ... and there were relatively few complaints.

This week you needed to kill pirates in a system in the bubble and there were far more complaints because the most common sources were not present. I liked the 'take on other missions to attract pirate opposition and kill them while also doing the trade CG' option, but now we just have boring RES.

This week the grinders win. Hey ho, I guess we can't have thinking required every week :)

Possibly not deliberately? A lot of these things with new systems do seem to take a few days to roll in sometimes.
Maybe, I was basing it on:
No promises on any action or results but checking with FDEV in case we (or they) missed something. Sorry for the delay, didn't get to read through the thread until just now.
Glad that nudge worked by the looks of things, fun times for the pew pew crowd return :)
... but it could have been coincidence

No idea if this is the result of my asking questions, but the timing is ... suspicious if not! :) I do think the new target is a bit low for the BH goal but hopefully should last the weekend so could be adjusted to make the goal last the length of the trade one on Monday. The increase in target for the trade goal was unexpected, but let's see what happens when the trade carriers start to show up in higher numbers. I'm guessing the bulk of the contributions have been from regular hauling so far since local supplies seem pretty good, though the highest profit one is now getting harder to find.

Thank you for pointing that out, I wanted to do my next phase of analysis on the marlinists.

Those are the same megaships that escaped from the empire systems (without a CG) and arrived in the federation systems, so they've packed them up for another trip:

  • From Charunder: Liberty's Horizon (refugees from 234 G. Carinae and Mazahuanses)
  • From Ennead: Wings of Peace (refugees from Baltah'Sine and Mazahuanses)
  • From HIP 36081: Hope's Sanctuary (refugees from HIP 39470 and CD-39 3269)
  • From LTT 1935: Freedom's Chance (refugees from Beatis and Nahuatl) - This is the system with the supposed factory that the IISS investigation CG failed
  • From LTT 3607: Spirit of Solidarity (refugees from 234 G. Carinae, Baltah'Sine and Mazahuanses)
  • From Thetis: Future Dreams (refugees from CD-39 3269, Beatis and Chana)

The marlinist systems, the mega ship, their population (looks like they had to add population values to get the nav beacons and RES to work) and their faction sources (they have factions custom-named like Free Marlinists of XXX or XXX collective of marlinists, with the original imperial system as the name):
  • HIP 22550 (Liberty's Horizon): 400,000,000 population from 234 G. Carinae
  • Hyades Sector RO-P b6-6 (Future Dreams): 160,000,000 from Chana and Beatis
  • LP 659-31 (Spirit of Solidarity): 100,000,000 from Baltah'sine and Nahuatl
  • Hyades Sector LX-T c3-30 (Freedom's Chance): 60,000,000 from Beatis, Carinae and Baltah'sine. A federation faction has expanded into this system so these systems have no BGS restrictions.
  • Hyades Sector SU-C a14-1 (no megaship): 60,000,000 from Nahuatl, Carinae
  • Hyades Sector RO-P b6-2 (Hope's Sanctuary): 100,000,000 from Baltah'Sine, Mazahuanses (the system is Mazahuanses, but the faction says "Mazahuanese", so either a typo or a gentilic?)
  • Hyades Sector VP-N b7-4 (no megaship): 1,500,000 from Nahuatl
  • Hyades Sector AB-M b8-2 (Wings of Peace): 1,500,000 from Mazahuanses and Chana

All marlinist factions are independent patronages. All systems started with 3 factions each, except for the last one that has only 2. The total population is 823 million. There are also the "Free Marlinist Movement" and the "Marlinist Reformation Party" factions which seem to be the only ones that let go of their original imperial system names, or they just didn't like their original system names: HIP 39470 and CD-39 3269.

Boring analysis that doesn't give credits, decals or modules is now complete 🤓 I feel like the in-game codex > knowledge base should be getting this stuff, even if it's just one paragraph per CG, these are historical things that the players have actively participated in.

Edit - Changed my speculation on the "Free Marlinist Movement" and the "Marlinist Reformation Party" factions.
