General COMBINED POWERS, DEPLOYED!

Combined Powers 2021 LQ.jpg

This picture wouldn’t be possible without the following Commanders; CONDOR77, ZETERON, INSANE MCMANIAC, JIMBOYY Great thanks!!!

Hi dear Creators and Commanders,

The idea for a “REUNION PLANET” wasn’t a great success. I hope this idea will have more potential.
Non the less I thought that a place where CMDR’s could reunite on a sort of open planet spaceport would give another dimension to the game, especially with the arrival of ODYSSEY.

Combined powers?

Look at the picture above and get inspired!

The combined use of SRV and Fighter are, at this time, disabled.
While it is possible to use a NPC fighter low to the ground.

It would be a great asset to have assistance from your NPC when you’re on the ground in an SRV.

You could make this premium by activating this option only when a 2 Fighter/SRV Bay is installed.

Inviting an NPC in a second SRV/FIGHTER, when the 2 vehicle bay is installed, to escort you around would also be awesome.

SITUATION; SRV and FIGHTER deployed

The CMDR arrives at destination, deploys the fighter with an NPC.
Lands the ship and deploys in the SRV.
The central console would have the same options as you were in the ship.
You ask the NPC to defend you or other actual possibilities.
NPC stays above you in the fighter during your mission while you are driving the SRV.

ALTERNATE (more demanding) SITUATION; 2 NPC’s in action.

One NPC uses your main ship or the extra SRV.
Resulting in a trio on the move, let the adventure begin.
Regardless to say that this feature would create an amazing experience.
I’m fully aware that this last situation could become very demanding, still this is certainly worth thinking about.

Please leave your remarks and questions so that I get an opinion.

Have fun and take care Commanders.

Kind regards,

Definitely agree with all of this, although I'd argue that it needs to go further and allow a full set of NPCs to operate all our vehicles in a given instance to support our work. At the moment, it takes 7 operators to use our ships to their fullest in ground operations (1 mothership, 2 fighters, 4 SRVs), which would necessitate 6 additional crew members. Imagine how it would be to be able to launch a full assault operation on a ground base, rather than just a lonely dude poking about in an SRV!

It's things like this that also make me feel that they should merge multicrew and NPC crew, as their goals are very much the same (multiple crew on board a single ship) and that way they would benefit from a shared development path as FD wouldn't need to maintain two completely parallel sets of mechanics to account for things like SRVs.

Thanks Ramirez, i agree with this. Let's hope that Frontier will take this in consideration ;)

Nice pick, like the idea but seems hard to balance, btw if everything on this pics was piloted by your npc crew, if they were maxed out you would only earn 60% income.
Hey that's balacing enought right ?

If they were to expand NPCs, then they'll probably rework how NPC pay is worked.

A simple suggestion would be for each proportional share to be worked out based on rank, possibly affected by some kind of "loyalty" value to encourage training from low ranks or even used to make NPCs more loyal if you are performing tasks in line with their own goals and motivations. Such a system could scale even further later down the line to account for larger crews or even NPC wings.

For example, rather than an NPC simply taking 10% of the pay, they have a proportional pay rate of 10 compared to a player's 100 (which could scale based on player rank too). With a single NPC, this means the total pay share of team would be 110, so the NPC would take 10/110 (9.09%) of the money with the remainder going to the player. If a fully outfitted ship has crew of 6 (4 SRVs and 2 fighters), then the team would have a total pay share of 160 (100 from player, 60 from the 6 crew members) so each NPC at elite rank would claim 10/160 (6.25%) while the player would have 100/160 (62.5%) left for their own pockets.

Thanks for your reaction and appreciation Chaines.
I would not go this far to start ;)

First thing is to unlock the SRV and FIGHTER working together.
The rest will follow if possible :)
