C'mon, this is faintly ridiculous.

Spoken with the usual arrogance of the privileged.
Privileged is someone that gets everything handed on a silver platter.

I achieved my wealth (I'd say about 10bn give/take 2bn including FC, there are vast numbers of much 'richer' CMDRs in the game) by playing the game regularly but normally (i.e. no cheesing or exploiting beyond the odd gold rush) for 5 years. Not the same I would think. And can be achieved much quicker now with the payouts being what they are.

I actually burned about 3bn credits pre-FC release because I got showered in credits by squadron mates due to sharing wing massacre mission payouts (I didn't lift a finger for those, so felt I didn't earn those, hence just wiped those credits by moving my Corvette to Colonia and back). This was 2019 iirc, certainly pre-Borann/LTD craze.

Yes, yes, spare us the 'I worked hard for it sermon'. It's not the point. You have privileged assets - others dont. Arguing with end game gear is quite pointless when only a fraction of players ever get there.

Yes well so has Jeff Bezos but at least he has the good sense to not call for everyone's wages to be cut now that he has his wealth.

Firstly, anybody who's been playing ED for more than a couple of years probably did earn their wealth without the game flinging huge piles of credits at them.

Secondly, it's a bit silly comparing real life to a game that involves earning wealth.
That'd be kind of like creating a version of Monopoly where there's an infinite supply of money and then saying "Jeff Bezos wouldn't complain" when somebody suggests it's made the game less enjoyable.

Not what I said though. I played the game, I earned credits over time, enabling me to afford end-game assets. Every other player has the exact same options, especially since Horizons got folded into the main game.

I mean, you could have a FC by now if you wouldn't spend the last few years whinging about engineers on this forum day in day out :D

And about 'fraction of players'.... have you looked at the system map of pretty much any system in the bubble recently (don't need to answer)? You're virtually falling over the darn things as they're everywhere. So even if you can't afford one yet yourself, just hitch a ride on someone else's. Done it myself a few times with my alt account.

Whoa whoa time out I wanna be clear: I have zero issue with anyone's game wealth or assets. I don't have a jealous bone in my body.

What I do take issue with are the said wealthy - many of whom DID use credit gold rushes no matter what they claim - coming here saying the game needs to be more grindy and that I shouldn't have what they got so fast.

I don't stick my hands in another mans pocket or take the space food off his table.

You just dont get it. And still go on how hard you earned some nonsense pixel. Maybe I'm just not interested in that nonsense pixel? Did that ever occur to you? That I just don't want to ever unlock it? Or that I know I won't ever unlock it?
Just like an Anaconda? Yeah maybe I could get one now with credits easier. Doesn't change the fact that I can't use it. Hence it just isn't an option. If, whys, woulds, coulds have no value. The option isn't there when I open up the game and here is a surprise for you: I'm pretty sure I'd play the game like I want and not like some other dude who might think multibillion assets and 500 h grind trees are awesome additions to the game's variety.

Why do you still post here? I mean I understand you don't actually play the game since 2.1, is that right? Is posting the same old complaints about a perceived engineer grind your idea of fun? Genuine questions - I just think life is too short to waste on posting in the forum of a game you clearly dislike so I find this quite bewildering if I'm honest with you.

You need not concern yourself about my motivations. Imagine you'd do that for everyone doing something. You wouldn't get done a single thing. So you probably are better off just accepting it. Or press the ignore button. I've used that quite often too.

Well, since you're leaving your mark in virtually every other post, I guess I have no other choice. Oh well.

But as someone said earlier, ship jump range would become completely irrelevant if that was the case. You could travel anywhere in your 65ly Asp/DBX and immediately have all your Corvettes and FdLs on hand. Every ship other than your taxi could have a 1E FSD and no fuel scoop. It would make a nonsense of designing multi-role ships.

It might make a good game, but it would be a completely different one to what we play now; more towards Arcade rather than Sim. Personally I'd find it a lot less interesting. ATM I like the impression that I'm real, located at a place in the galaxy, and my ships wherever they happen to be are also real. Moving them about takes planning and gameplay.

First of all, that's how PVPers do it now. most combat tanks have crappy FSDs because that weight is just a burden in a hull re-inforced tanked out murder boat.

Second of all, No, because trading/mining still requires a ship that can jump, PVE still mostly requires a ship that can jump (or at least is just far easier) and MANY locations of necessitiy are not in the bubble or continently located next to a station.

So at the end of the day, the game really wouldn't change one iota.

You might be in the market for a Fleet Carrier then.

Actually I WAS till they made this stupid "pay ever week to rent your carrier or it goes away!" nonsense. I have a job, thanks. The minute I'm doing something because I have to not because I want to? It's a job.

And please no one argue that it's necessary because carriers are persistent. The carriers ALREADY despawn with all associated problems if you dont upkeep them. Just make it if you don't login for a month they despawn and respawn when you come back.

The carrier upkeep fees actually really killed my interest in the game for a while. It just felt like a slap in the face from the developers. But you know, there are hundreds of carriers in the game so there are a lot of folks who don't seem to mind.

Ok.

Ship transfers for you it remains then:)

It's kinda ironic that after 29 pages a thread initially about how easy the game has become over time has morphed into a thread full of demands to make the game even easier :ROFLMAO:

The thread is this long because not everyone agrees it's too easy.

I should rename my carrier Alanis Memorial really.

The argument of not having a FC because of 'upkeep' should have died after the last 'balance' where 2 missions in a week pays for that week. At around 12 million it isn't exactly a 'grindstone' - but never mind, allegedly there are too many out there already, so perhaps we could spread the rumour even further that they are impossible to maintain without continuous grinding by the owner :)

Is the game to easy? Of course it is, but it isn't either - it just depends on the player, surely?
