2) Tools not finished - same excuse as tech isn't done. Its just another way CIG kick the can down the road.
It's not an excuse, it's the reality. The tools are not finished.
If a mechanic say you can't go with your car because it miss one wheel, you don't say him "bulshit" and go with your 3 wheels car.

Yet somehow they did make most of a system without the tools and tech you say they need.
And ? They need at least a complete system to test all mechanisms and give backers a place to test. And they have to redone it multiple time because of the improvement of the tool. The tools manage the content, not the other way around. Each temporary content is redone when the tools evolve (planets, POS, missions, etc).

Actually at least two systems are needed to prove the tools scale over multiple systems. The fact we only have one system should be a red flag that the tools and mechanisms only work inside one system.

But it is an excuse since they managed to do a system.

Your analogy fails because they added 3 wheels but then say they don't have the tools to make a 4th wheel?

LOL

Removing content now......

Have they explained why they dont just hold on for the Nyx system to actually be deployed before removing anything? I mean, unless the Nyx system is imminent of course? That the general assumption?

We are talking multiple years to "finish tools". At some point you are going to need to start considering that CIG´s problems are not just a matter of "finishing" some stuff, but that they seem to not be capable of producing those "tools" properly and have really serious technical limitations to begin with.

You just see it in the ISC. They want to add rivers to planet (and perhaps other things). The tool for the 4th wheel is not finished.

Have a look at the list of planned systems. I believe one of the planned systems is SOL in which is the planet earth. Now, I don't expect an MSFS level of detail, but on earth there are around 76 rivers longer than a 1000 miles, so one or two rivers are going to be needed.

Then start thinking about over terrains and their components.

Anyway have fun

EDIT: Noticed Agony just Googled the same site! LOL

I didnt think of that. Now SOL isnt your average tiny lifeless moon. We all have pretty distinct expectations for planet earth in games. Consider SCs level of fidelity backers will expect the most fantastic playground.....imagine "I m gonna go land in my backyard" fidelity. As its earth you also cant simply drop in whatever you feel like dropping but have to stick to what we know....can you imagine how long CiG will work on handcrafting all of those places in great detail? 4 years for a single planet? maybe 99% will be enforced no-fly zones with super duper textures you can swoon over when you go on your 5 hour train ride ^^ And of course barren moon which will be freely available for your mining tours :D

Paying for future digital content is actually a pre-sale (this includes jpegs and ships sales as these are not final, in theory, yet). Pre-sales behave exactly in the same way as a normal sale from the point of view of the buyer except that you get it later and can get a refund at any point in time before delivery. Wether you actually buy it outright or, more likely in the case of video games, pay for the right to use it via a license of some kind makes no difference: They are all pre-sales, with VAT and all.

The thing with CIG is that based on their refunds current policies they seem not to even be treating SC as a pre sale, but as an actual sale, delivered already as is ("playable now").

But this is all "déjà vu" mec. I thought you had actually realized it by now.
Btw, any news about The Agent's pitch. Sounded like an effort specifically around undelivered pre-purchase of digital content.

When they said they were going to have 110 systems ... did they ever promise at the same time? Asking for a friend ;)

Might as well split each system into a DLC of its own.....39.99 per + tax. Originally the single player campaign was supposed to be included as well and we all know how that panned out. In order to exclude each of the systems CIG can even stick to the same excuse they used for SQ42.....fidelity ^^

More like 3999,99 € / $ +tax, limited time only, deliverable "soon" :D

They're deleting my home port. RiP Levski, Citizen con 2015 to January 2021...it'll be a hard job moving... :(

The removal of Delamar is purely a sign that Ci¬G's servers can't handle what's there, not that they're adding anything new. The servers are imploding on a regular basis and have been for quite some time. The faithful see new stuff coming like Orison and the Crusader gas giant...I see pointless additions like the Xeno threat mission scenarios, reduced server capacity to 40 players and nothing more content wise in the conceivable future. No Pyro, no Nyx, no Crusader or Orison. I suppose removing content is cheaper than renting more servers, right?

The January focus group sessions are now being hailed as the 'Combat summit', you can plainly see where Ci¬G will be focusing their efforts for the entire year. No more trading improvements, no more additions besides ship sales, no more content...just more utterly vacuous space pew. :cautious:

Standard game tech or not is irrelevant. Seeing it in game is relevant and exciting.
When FDEV talk about Ice planets it's exciting, I don't care if it's standard game tech or not.

At the accounting level, you give funds to CIG to develop the game and as reward you get a virtual item. You don't buy ships.
Can you show me a receipt or invoice/bill of sale where this transaction you describe is executed?
