Does anyone else play with music off?

I switched it off since day one or soon after.

I need to hear everything, especially in the arena while hunting people down.

When in a mood I play Trololo 10 hour loop instead.

Just turned down.

I turn off exploration music because it interferes with the srv scanner.

The music is great in this game.

Music off in all games here too.

A few exception to 'all games'. Maybe I should have said most games. Anyway, there are some RPGs where I like the music, and Total War games too, the strat map music is always good in those games.

I turn music off in all games, except for some :)

I've found it to be quite beautiful listening to the ship sounds and PA over the station ambience, without being distracted by what the game thinks it wants me to feel. I tried it once and didn't look back.

Has anyone else tried this, or is it just me?
Probably 90% of the time for me. I have my own stuff playing or out so I’ve got that special effects way up for immersion

The in-game music is fine, but I got bored of it after 6 months. Ever since then I supply my own music which includes the likes of Dynatron, Protector101, Perturbator, Power Glove, Carpenter Brut, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Jean-Michelle Jarre, amongst many, many others.

I've never gotten round to watching Fury Road...the severe lack of Mel Gibson was a bit of a deal breaker for me :(

I did watch all 3 of the original trilogy back to back the other day though (y)
At risk of derailing the thread, it was ok. More back to the beginnings of the stories. Full of practical memes, too. Like : That's bait.

But as for the music in the game. It isn't that it is bad, its just that I've heard it all already many times so I turned it off.

NO I wanna talk more about the Road Warrior!!! 🤣

But seriously, the music in ED is great but I do get why people may turn off/down certain elements of it for their own immersion.
I've done the same in some games on occasion.

I listen to the fine works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart when I'm flying around in space.

Unless I'm high, then it's podcasts or ambient space music from DI.fm

I used to until I learned that some music is specific to certain things in game. like how imperial and federation systems have different music that plays upon reaching your destination. Same with systems of guardian and thargoid relevance. After reviewing the soundtrack I would imagine this can be a useful indicator of a system being important in some way.

Also I love the creepy piano music in srvs

Yes, I turn the music off in every game I play. It's immersion breaking; there's no music in space. In ED I've also turned off the hyperspace countdown and some limpet messages.
Same. I've had the countdown voice off for a long time, kept the limpet messages on though cause it sometimes means I need to do something like deploy another limpet.
