I finally found a home system I like, moved all my ships there and started running missions. I will admit I have been ignoring the BGS for now, leaving that for more advanced gameplay when I get further along in my elite career.
I am living in a system that:
1- Has 3 minor factions are federal so I can slowly build my rank
2- Only has 1 system within 10 ly that pirate massacre missions will be sent to
3- Is one small jump away from an discount ship / module builder
4- Is one small jump away from a mining location with a platinum hotspot
5- Is near a number of engineers
6- Is near material traders and guardian broker
I started taking assassination and massacre missions and now I am allied with all the factions, including the controlling faction and the station owner. The mission payouts started to get exciting, with overlapping pirate massacre missions from two of the factions, coupled with smaller ones plus assassinations from the other factions. This allowed me to to get a few really good payouts yielding about 40m-50m an hour. I even got a "kill 16 pirates" mission from a Federal special mission for 50m!
Then... war. All my really good massacre missions dried up and turned into combat zone bond missions. The assassinations are now against the other faction. If I take these missions then it hurts my allied status with the other faction, which in turn drops the quality of my mission payout. I understand that war will be resolved within 7 days without player interaction.
So my question is this: Did I CAUSE the war by blithely ignoring BGS and being focused on maximum profits? Can I do anything in the future to make the system more stable so war does not happen again? Like doing certain type of trading or some other activity?
In digging I see that this system is controlled by players!? "Aseveljet".. which is a swedish squadron focused on supporting their faction?
Ok here is the system I am talking about: Star system - Ainunnicori [INARA]
Thanks for any insight you have!
