Indeed we are short sighted, we see Frontier taking action for in-game circumstances they do not wish to happen...
Eh...I'm out, other people explained it enough times.
Today games and shadow bans for stuff OUTSIDE (yes, discords created by random players aren't official channels, this topic since long time is about theorethically bans for breaking law outside game) official channels of company product, tomorrow other, more important services. Present day is just funny. Next days will be sick. With your approval :) I will just quote 1 smart post from previous pages.
No, of course I would not want to be associated with such a person, on a personal level. But are the rules different for a business if those acts did not happen within their sphere of authority? I don’t know of the exact laws but we’re just being philosophical here.

And remember, let’s assume this person’s act did not happen within the realm of any specific business.

Should that person’s employer fire them? Should any other employer from then on refuse to hire them? Should the bank cancel the mortgage? Should the grocery store refuse to sell them food? Should the utility companies turn off their water, electricity, gas? Should a hospital refuse treatment? Why should any of those businesses associate with such a person?

Ah, but those are essential services you might say. Well what about non-essentials. Should they not be allowed to borrow a book from the library? See a movie? Should cable companies, streaming services, internet services all withdraw service? Where do you draw the line on where a person can be condemned for their actions?

If suddenly a video comes out of a person doing bad things in some unrelated event and it turns out they just happen to also play ED in their spare time, I don’t think they would receive a ban.
I see, that some of people just want this reality.

Immergent gameplay/roleplaying

There is a clear way back to the bibble via sidewinder and those who suicided would still be better off financially (in game) yhan they were before had they been mining for awhile despite the low payments.

Carebears wont understand because carebears think even normal pvp is griefing which it is clearly not.

I dont support their actions but still think it is just clever use of game mechanics that actually added something eventful to the game besides killing terribly scripted AI.

If we want to talk about gamebreaking lets talk about those npc Alpha special forces Vipers that seem to have 15 chaff equipped and an extra 10 optional slots with HRPs

On the one hand doctors take a hippocratic oath that surely prevents them from such actions, on the other, I believe a doctor has to be present at a state execution, so you know, complex.

OK, so doctors are apparently not true scotsmen in your view :p

But yeah, it's complex indeed. So much that you apparently still fail to understand the point.
In all countries where 'rule of law' is even remotely a thing, legal principles like presumption of innocence or pacta sunt servanda are taken very seriously. It's not up to plumbers, doctors, shopkeepers, teachers etc. and it's not even up to companies like fdev to decide whether or not someone is guilty of something.

And it's absolutely not up to the mob to grab torches and pitchforks to impose punishment on them.

Btw I bloody damn sure don't have to be present at a state execution, for the simple reason that capital punishment does not exist in my country.
Are things like lynching mobs and death penalties still a thing where you live? Sounds pretty medieval tbh.

this just in, being disinvited from a video game is equivalent to being denied medical treatment or arrested for a crime

if your pub landlord doesn't want you in his pub because you're bothering the other customers it's irrelevant what the "rule of law" is because it's his damn pub, too bad, go whine about your "rights" somewhere else

No!
It is much, much worse than that...
Funnier when some folk get a bee in their bonnet calling 'outside the game' as the reason for a ban and being butthurt about such... Not caring to consider if the in-game actions were sufficient... Gotta play the victim for them though 🤷‍♂️

So FD would have to call the police to legally ban someone from their game? That doesn't sound correct to me.

Where did I say you had to? You're apparently an educated person, you can imagine a country that exists now that has doctors and state executions....talking of which...

No, I don't live in America. All of those things have happened there in the last year, not where I live.

Thank god you're back, you had me worried.
