Lack of ways to support ED financially?

Upon reflection of the original post, I have the following suggestion on how we can all help to support a multi million pound company more.

Idea 1
A simple direct taxation of every players IRL earnings. I think somewhere between 10-15% should be adequate

Idea 2
Ships must be rented and never owned. Standard cost should be about £5 pw for a Sidewinder and £65 pw for a Cutter or Corvette, FC's will also require a non refundable deposit of £1000 at initial rental.

Idea 3
Cmdrs must sign over at least three internal organs that Fdev can choose to harvest at any time for sale on the organ black market, I hear kidneys fetch a rather handsome price, what what.

I would greatly appreciate feedback on what I believe are reasonable ideas?

Toodly Pipsky old beans

Chris Roberts is that you?

As with any company, I'm quite sure if you called their corporate office and set up a regularly scheduled donation via bank debit they'd gladly fulfill it.

Just don't expect anything "special" in return for your donation.

Paint jobs, low effort high collateral with a receipt?

The paint jobs, decals, ship kits - none of it really matters when you are flying 99% of time in a cockpit. And it has been 5 years since Horizon came out, so will it be another 5 years later when some Paid Season comes next?

In 5 years i spent 1000's of $ on different games portion of which could have been Elite Dangerous. But there is nothing to buy... in Elite Dangerous. Even Voice Attack + Voice Packs aren't made by Frontier.

I sincerely hope with Odyssey this bizarre model will change and players like me that feel left out, would have a chance to spend something our money on in Elite Dangerous.
I would like to be able to just buy a game. and it not be a grind job to upgrade stuff. why can't we just do missions/quest. adventure and find Items to craft/build ships and weapons upgrades as rewards for progressing threw content/story of the game. And pay real world money every 3 months for new story missions and questing content. I'd Like World of Warcraft in space. rofl

We could have it all but, some people are not happy if you enjoy another way, Even if was a choice.

On a side note; improper use of the word through (threw), federal violation you have been fined -5cr!

It's either pay to win, subscription or cosmetics, and FD so far have avoided the former two.

I agree though, I'd like to support the game better as well. Merch options could be better, and we're still waiting on that hula bobblehead. Outside of that I can't think of anything.
They can add a subscription service $1-5/month that would give players more space to save modules or ships...
There are various models out there.
Something that wouldn't break balance. If it meant dedicated servers!

Why further support for ED financially. I supported it when I bought it. I didn't rent it from FDev. In fact I still support it when I purchase ARX.

OP, If you want to support ED further more with money then I suggest sending a cheque to FDev.🙄

Whatever you do for people it will never be enough. Your proposed model is decent, but people would complain about paid advantage, as they already did with Horizons. The ones paying would complain the advantage isn't good enough. It's not surprising that FD aren't willing to do anything other than rely on paintjobs and expansions and p2p networking with this community.

IMO that proposed model IS paid advantage.

I think that renting a space for extra ships is pointless and renting space for extra module storage wouldn't work. What happens to the extra modules if you stop paying rent, sorry! I meant paying a monthly subscription?

I just buy like 20 freedombucks worth of stuff (now Arx) whenever I pick up the game again. Bought a ricing kit for my Clipper because... why not?
