It doesn’t even take skill, per se, to be in the top 10. All it takes is just lots and lots of play time. I’ve been playing about an hour or so per day and I’m firmly in the top 10%. If I would have played 10x as much I’d have 10x the bounties, simple as that. There’s no real challenge to it, so I don’t see the motivation.

Exactly. I bet virtually all of them have ships they feel are much better than a FAS at bounty hunting.
I have tried a FAS, I could buy a several dozen of them without financial strain, buy I very much prefer my FDL. I don't need a free FAS.
They should organize something like this for noobs only. It would be a wonderful boost for them I suspect, although they could easily earn one for themselves in a few days time.

full disclosure, for me it's just extra money on the side (yes, i'm saving for a carrier
). getting to 10% was trivial with a proper medium ship and information, a few hours of solid and entertaining gameplay. it will probably not hold but i already moved on and i'm more than happy with a 25% or even 50%. anything else would have its reward in its own impossible hilarity.I hoped they'd maybe learned their lesson from the Mk IV, I was never a Cobra fan I actually worked my way to a FAS originally way back when when it was a feasible ship with great maneuverability a great hull but crap shields and jump range.
I have a Mk IV and have honestly never flown it.
