It's not the extra click but having to watch an hour long (or whatever the length is) video as opposed to reading a few paragraphs (doesn't have to be a wall of text) which takes a couple of minutes at worst, I thought that point was already made several times in this very thread.

To be fair I didn't watch the vid but I've seen many of them and have used a few as a study guide in my personal AX training at times as well as referred others since its easier than explaining it myself 😉

if you check out my channel (no shilling intended :p ) you will see that a large amount of the videos are tutorials giving detailed instruction and examples of how to fight thargoids - which btw have helped a lot of CMDRs :)

Some ithngs are best explained through video, especially in video games. And a wall of text - despite the objections of some of the older members of this forum - is not as helpful

I would say that in future all posts will be on parchment but honestly this is working out just fine as is - if the inconvenience of having to click your mouse one mroe time away from the page is the worst thing that happens to you that day well you have a pretty nice life ;)

I cant be any clearer than I have, I have stated a couple of times now that my post wasn't about you personally, however, you continue to make this about you, your answer is about what you do and why you do it.

I was making a wider point, not about you. I was talking about the evolution in general of people posting on forums or newsgroups, as I have been doing for around 20-30 years.

People do read books.

Reading is a fine skill to have, name a film that was better than the book.

Reading increases intelligence, if only in the art of learning new words. It provokes more thought, requires more imagination and increases the reader's ability to critically think.

Reading anything requires the reader to participate, watching a film (not all but most) is just being spoon fed something.

No film or game can produce the 'special effects' your mind can.

The other thing with reading is that you get to pause, digest, consider, I know that you can do that with video as well, but really, video wasn't built to really be done that way.

Anyway, I've steered this well away from the main thrust of the thread, my Patreon.

Why cant we just be friends with the Thargoids, why is killing them so cool?

OA and others have all been criticised for posting videos on the forums which is why they probably stopped.

My daughter is of the youtube generation and watches instructional vids all the time. I look at it as the same as when I was her age and I had buddies that would buy cheat books for video games. I was never really into that back then let alone now sit and watch someone do it for me 🤷‍♂️ but to each their own.
Now I have asked google for advice though if I am really stuck on something but I've beat my head against a wall for days on end over something only to find out it was a game breaking bug :mad: Looking right tf at you Bethesda

I don't know what people are moaning about, post 4 here from yours truly gives everything you need to know in a short and concise well presented manner.

I guess they didn't read the thread properly.

Also @Katie Byrne I have two mega ship Thargoid encounter in my home system of Yembo but they don't seem to be on your Axi list. I'd be quite happy to see more Axi pilots in system turning in Thargoid bounties if they wanted to drop in.

Her video's barely get a thousand views. If you know anything about how YouTube works, you would know she's not doing this for money. Nobody interested in that would even pick such an obscure title as Elite anyway.

It's clear she has a passion for the game and AX combat.
