Odessey medpacks

Think about from other side, imagine you fight on ship doing CZ for example and have "medpacks" appearing there, which restore 100% your shileld. We don't have it why? - same answer should apply to fps.

But its still medical equipment, out in public, for anyone to use.
True, my local Bowls Club has a Defib unit on one wall, with a contact number to get the unlock code...

Granted, with the average age of a Bowls Club member, it is probably essential equipment!
(Not an ageist remark - I'm a member of that club, not the oldest granted...)

OK. If this is limited to Military bases - the only one we've seen - where meds are part of a soldier's gear, and ammo packs are the same, I'll happily retract.

What if I walk into an agricultural base of the same base design and find medpacks - as opposed to fruit and vegetables - in the same place? It is only a concern at this point but it could be the difference between relatively thrown in game, play convenience and more carefully detailed world building. Small beer but worth a flag imo.
Again it depends- and in reality its a balance between realism & utility v it being a game. In an old fruitpicking job there was a room that had a basic first aid box for example with plasters and bandages. If it were me I'd make soldiers drop items, since they'd be the ones carrying them.

There’s a defib unit in the old red phone box in my town centre - with 6 pubs within spitting distance, it used to be the taxi call point - no darkly funny drunken accidental phone attempts since it’s been installed, fortunately 😁

Before Odyssey releases:

Why are there medpacks just lying around! This breaks my immersions!

After Odyssey releases:

We need more med packs lying around! I keep dying and waking up in space! This is terrible!

Oh forums :)
Yeh, that's possible. However they already had creative solution for that - amfu/rep. limpets and shield cell banks. And we don't have flying medpacks for ships.
Also they can make "medical center" on bases where you can have tonns of medpacks if you survive till there.

And I still remind, it should be "fixpacks" to fix the suit :D

2) No one ever successfully defibrillated them self!
James Bond in Casino Royale, which was also a work of fiction, just like EDO.

SCBs, not 100% but the shield is bigger and you can chain them.

Its more unrealistic and a waste of money for every single outpost with 12 people to have an on-site Doctor and Med Centre and Surgery etc. They would have the basics and expect Med-Evac to deal with the more serious cases, exactly as it is now in many workplaces. Its the law that all business premises in my country have a fully stocked First Aid kit and a trained First Aider, all trucks must carry First Aid and a Fire Extinguisher, some countries all vehicles must do so. Theres no point the med-pack being locked away where nobody can get to it.

You know, the store I work in has first aid kits in strategic locations on the sales floor, as well as the back room. They’re usually as empty as the diaper change stations in the rest rooms, though, thanks to some people helping themselves when no one is looking. We also have two defibrillator kits.

If Frontier had any desire to preserve what’s left of verisimilitude in this game, stealing medkits brazenly (or being caught with those medkits) would create suspicion in the guards and NPCs, regardless of rep. Sadly, this is Frontier we’re talking about, so...

Its the most civil thread on the forum for one, and its not the usual weekly repeats either so its all good.

Everything on the forums is about a game, cant be helped.

...and bring back bribing the cops, like in the previous two games! 😁

Counterpoint - during my years in the Royal Navy, bright orange plastic box First Aid kits were mounted in quick-release wall brackets all around the ship.
First Aid packs were also readily available and clearly signposted at the shore bases I served at.
Maybe sailors get injured more than you flyers? 😁
Yes, they should be MOUNTED on a wall, like fire extinguishers are found in locations here and there. They should not be lying on top of a crate that was left in the middle of the street. Speaking of fire extinguishers mounted on the walls here and there, you should be able to grab one and smack someone across the back of the head with it, or use it to put out a fire, or spray it all over someone's facemask so they can't aim to fire at you.
I would expect medpacks be mounted on walls in something like "command center" building or so, not thrown everywhere.
"Thrown everywhere" is classic "doom-like" pew-pew.
This, exactly. There's a first aid kit in my office at work. There are several fire extinguishers in convenient locations and I know where each and every one of them are in case of an emergency. I don't expect to find them sitting on a crate that someone left a few days ago. This is not "DOOM." This is serious stuff here.

So what about emergency defib equipment on walls? You balance (in that environment) the need for rapid access to kit with security. If in the far future medication is safe, non - abusable (i.e. you can't OD or get addicted to it) then why should it not be in such places? If its nano based (which I think it is based on the VitaDyne lore) its sole purpose is to fix you up and it does nothing else.
And if your weapon runs out of charge, a quick-thinking McGyver player could grab one, sneak up behind the enemy and shock him into a kumoburger.

I dearly want to put my old lab coat back on, grab my clipboard and black Biro and get to work on these slackers. Weak SOP application is a disease.
You know, that MIGHT be the best, most stealthy way to sneak into a base - just look like you belong there, inspecting stuff with your lab coat over your space suit. :D

I hate to be picky, like...

In a tenuous atmosphere, that may be Sulphur Dioxide, there may be plenty of accellerants in those big red barrels, but no oxygen to get a 'good burn' going...

I suggest just using the extinguishers as blunt weapons...

One could expect to find fire extinguishers inside buildings where we have breathable atmosphere, no one wants oxygen burning away by something on fire. And yes, they do make a good blunt weapon.
