Starport Tour - Q&A Quick Notes

  • Exobiology rank goes 'beyond Elite' - as do the other ranks now.

I don't think I'm a fan of Uber Master Ultra Elite. Nor of having to kill 10 million NPCs to achieve it.

But maybe that's not what was meant, the statement was a bit vague with an ominous "more on that in the future".

And then a little further on they say "to me it seems a normal transition" really??? what could be more epic than running down a gangway or back up into your ship with a squad? instead of [fade to black]
I agree, it is not nice if devs start thinking for me. I would have loved to run into my ship. Even if I'm in a hurry. I remember the hysteric running into ships in Starwars to get away as quickly as possible.
And I wonder if it is very difficult to make it so, you can choose, hop right in or walk your way.
Maybe when ship interiors are done it will change.
Let's be clear I love this new expansion and the way we can walk around stations and on planets. But a little bit immersion by walking into the ship before we plop into our chair would have been much appreciated. :)

I mean to be fair, there's some serious technical and mechanical difficulties they need to broach with regards to ship interiors (even at its most basic: the ships are modular internals, so they'd need to address that in the design).

And FDEV, as much as we love what they give us, does have a habit of shying away from such challenges.

I'm still massively disappointed that we don't have ship interiors, they can claim it's a gameplay choice as much as they want but we all know it's because they couldn't be bothered.
I not convinced it's over them not being bothered, I would say it's more to do with priorities and difficulties
I'm not even sure it's about the monetary returns as I'd guess a ship interior has far more scope to bring in the arx cash cow than what we are getting with Odyssey

i wanna know, can i summon my ship to a hanger and step in with 2,3 other friends in the same lift to the hangar and board together ? :/

Loving the Frontline idea - explained that you can stumble on a CZ yourself and take part, but Frontline allows you to find it from the stations.

This is great. I was worried the Frontline Solutions zones were like CQC, out of game as it were, or disconnected.

Yeah they will only have offers if the system is in a conflict type state

So watching the VOD, they said "I think walking up the stairs into your ship for the 1000th time would get old" Here , but they dont think running to a mission giver npc would be the same? Bit of corporate disconnect there

Edit fixed link to correct time stamp
It was just a personal opinion not a corporate statement. Goodness no wonder everyone has to be so cagey about what they reveal or say!
