FDEV Ignoring TheYamiks as a Core Creator, Your thoughts on the matter.

Don't care the names. I google "Elite Dangerous today" and watch some vids from there. Don't subscribe, don't like.
I don't care exact man, I care the game.
Some fun & interesting pops periodically, like 1 man streamers with bright ideas.

1) They didn't ignore him. They replied saying no.

2) What core content creator for ED hasn't bought and paid for an alpha key already? Whart sort of core content creator wouldn't? Now, i can imagine someone who doesn't play ED, but a big content creator, being given a key to try it out and give their impression. Although I don't like that, seems like paying for favourable reviews.

3) If Yamiks was thinking FD have keys that allow pre-alpha access, in advance of the actual alpha, OA says he doesn't have such and hasn't heard of such.

Obsidian Ant did a vid recently that basically pointed out a bunch of bugs and problems with the game - however he managed it without using the vocabulary of a drunk sailor at an Irish wake.

Yup, Obsidian is good too. But he's more like 1990's CNN format, and Yamicks is more like an MMA cage match. Some people like either/or. Some people like both.

Like I indicated, I'm an eclectic. This morning I just watched a very long video about an "egg" mining Corvette and I'm quite sure the only real point was to get me to buy a coffee mug about limpets or hit up his Patreon. But I still found entertainment in it :)

Yamiks is very entertaining, works hard to develop Elite Dangerous related content, and has a large following. I am subscribed, and watch all of his uploads.

However, his rants are fairly raw, and lack the restraint an endorsed commentator might need.

FDEV granting him a review copy might be perceived as FDEV tangentially approving of his content delivery style, with all of that provocative diction included.

Maybe FDEV could leave a copy in a paperbag on a bus bench where Yamiks catches a ride to pick up Kvass, but giving him a copy openly is probably more toxic than an enzyme missile shot up the fuel scoop.

I'm not sure "impartiality" is the first thing I need in a dedicated YouTube channel about a video game I can pick up for a few quid. Since when did making a video game put you on the footing of a political party?

If I don't like a game, I don't play it. I don't spend week after week watching some guy talk about how "lazy" he thinks the developers are.

If I like the game, I would want to watch someone who at least wanted to play the game for "fun" as a basic starting point. You know, like what video games are meant to be? So some enthusiasm for the product isn't exactly a bad idea.

If I want an impartial review I go to people that review video games not the same video game over and over and over.

He has a perception for saying controversial things, on his monetised videos, in order to garner likes/clicks and shares, the only winner is Yamiks
Like almost all content creators. It’s become a business and for some a very lucrative one.

But how can the drama queen have drama when there are no threads made by drama enablers to have drama in?
