ANNOUNCEMENT Hello World! Issues with the new forum? Please post here.

One thing I do miss is the "Go" button next to the drop down list at the bottom of the threads which send you back to the existing forum index, but instead we have to click the list then click our forum heading again.

The Frontier and Elite themes are stripping blank lines from posts, which destroys any formatting and makes large posts quite difficult to read.

Black-out and mobile themes are preserving the blank lines and displaying posts correctly. (there's a blank line before this one)

I get a couple of javascript error in console. This one might be the source of a couple of them:

[ blocked] The page at 'https://forums.frontier.co.uk/newreply.php?p=902617&noquote=1' was loaded over HTTPS, but ran insecure content from 'http://forums.frontier.co.uk/clientscript/vbulletin-core.js?v=422': this content should also be loaded over HTTPS.

As said, vbulletin-core.js is loaded over http while the rest is loaded over https. Funny chrome blocks this silently now. In the past most browsers shouted it out loud in a 'mixed content' warning.

Working on this issue now.

As much as i liked it myself, vBulletin's developer team trimmed that out a long time ago. It'd take a while getting it added back in without screwing up the CSS.

Hi Brett,

Michael Brooks's avatar is so wide that when you view someone's Activity who has him as a friend, you can't read the first few letters of each line :D

Yeah... about that... :p

Official Elite, but in light blue?

Me, I like the new functions, although they will require getting used to. Signature is fixed now.

If I get the approval, I will see if i can get said theme/style added in.

Well. This will take some getting used to, though I'm liking it overall. Considering how huge the change is, the fact that my first reaction isn't "they changed it, now it sucks" is actually rather more positive than it sounds... it is easy to grow comfortable with something and start hating when it's taken away ;) I do have some feedback though.

Elite theme
1) The transparency seems a bit on the high side, and can distract from the actual text. The visual effect is nice, but it could stand to be toned down just a little.
2) I would prefer if the thread page navigation and forum quick navigation were buttons you could click to pop up the menu rather than a mouse-over function. They tend to pop up when I don't want them to while I writing replies. Also, the "Top" button also pops up the forum navigation menu, which I suspect it shouldn't, and similarly, all the page buttons within a thread (First + numbers) also pop up the thread page navigation menu.
3) The orange feels a bit too harsh, looking almost red when seen next to all the black/dark grey. Maybe go with the softer version of the "Elite" orange used in the game interface background? Plus, that would match my signature image ;)
4) The lines separating the signature panel from the message text in posts are effectively invisible against the background image. Reducing transparency might help, but I suspect the need to be a bit brighter if you want them to be seen. Otherwise, might as well remove them.
5) The reputation button is easy to miss, and also takes you to a different page. Making you leave the page seems a disincentive to giving reputation. The old popup method would be preferable.
6) All posts seem to be padded with a couple extra blank lines at the bottom, artificially making them taller than they need to be - See the space between the last line of this post and the 'Last edited' notice at the bottom.

I'm sure there's more, but that's the stuff I noticed in the first hour. For all that though, great effort! A change of this magnitude will undoubtedly take some tweaking before it's all smooth.

1. I'll see what I can do with the main forum transparency settings.
2. They should be a click to activate, if not - what theme(s) are you using? Are you using HTTP or HTTPS to access the forums?
3. Will see what the others at Frontier think about it.
4. I'll see what I can do about bringing up the color on the lines for signatures.
5. Yeah... about that little button... ;) It's very low on priority right now to modify and add text to it.
6. That is intentional (there's moderator stuff down in them there spaces!).

Thanks for your feedback, it's much appreciated. :)

There some really weird schnizzle going on. I'm currently unable to reply to a number of threads, but I can reply to this one. Any reply option in those threads results in an inactive text box. Cleard cache and cookies, restarted browser, tried different browsers, yadda yadda yadda.

I accidently switched my forum skin to mobile and now I cannot access the menu to switch it back anymore... where is it ?!?!

I had this too and in trying to fix it I went to settings and discovered the different skins for the forum... except I pressed mobile by accident and I'm stuck in a really horrible mobile format forum ! arghhhh

I cannot post to the forum using Chrome (Version 38.0.2125.104 m) with AdBlock installed. I managed one post, after that the edit box is 'greyed out' and pushing 'Post Reply' does nothing.

I'm using IE to post this - not my default browser, as I love AdBlock way too much.

EDIT: Removing AdBlock doesn't help - I still can't post using Chrome.... Heyelp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice layout. First used the "constraint" layout / skin but that stinks.

Is there a way to not have the red borders? They look a bit aggrevating :)

My friend off of the States has asked me to post this in his stead as he is currently utterly unable to post anything in the forums - this includes replying to any threads or creating new ones (private messaging is working, however). He has debugged the page and found the following:

Uncaught [CKEDITOR.editor.setMode] Unknown mode "enhancedsource". ckeditor.js?t=A7HG4HT&v=422:111
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property '$' of undefined vbulletin_textedit.js?v=422:11vB_Text_Editor.getRawData vbulletin_textedit.js?v=422:11vB_Text_Editor.autosave vbulletin_textedit.js?v=422:11(anonymous function)

I have the same problem with Chrome without even using addblock...

I think these are red herrings. It seems to be intermittent. I was able to post one minute, then not the next. It may be that it seems to work/not work in particular browser/add-in combinations, but what you're seeing is actually just indeterminacy.

I also keep getting kicked back to that horrible mobile version :-( it's ugly as *** and not functional at all. There should be a way to deactivate it entirely. Even the desktop mode of my browser doesn't help.
