OK, ctrl f gives me about 26-30 FPS in a port. I have everything turned right up at 2,560 X 1,440. It's a little choppy.
I finally found out how to catch a shuttle (I know, I know, I ought to read some stuff and watch other stuff) but I'm perplexed as to where my Freewinder is. Perhaps you don't get one ay first and you need to do stuff to get CR to buy one. Like suits and weapons and stuff.
I got out onto a location at the first planet - some agricultural plant or something - and started to move around. First thing I was told was that outside temperature was hot. Er... OK. So I though, let's get the shuttle back and try another place.
No shuttle. The goit had left me there! Couldn't enter any building or interact with anything probably coz I hadn't bought stuff to do that stuff.
Suit ran out of powah.
Suit ran out of O2.
Tyre's died. Neat effect though, that dying
That's all I had time for today. Feels, so far, like an entirely different game...
Im finding (in settlements) 25 - 30FPS is currently the max (doesn't even change if I drop from High settings to Low). It does shoot up to 90(my FPS cap) in some areas and if I look at the sky - the fact that it goes up alot is some areas gives me alot of hope this is a fairly easy (if time consuming) fix (optimisation).OK, ctrl f gives me about 26-30 FPS in a port. I, like you, found it very difficult in the beggining - they did say there isn't a tutorial yet so maybe that would help (alot!) (Im also assuming having everything unlocked would help quite alot too)
I died on my first 4 missions. Intsta dead. It was hilarious, after the long flight to fail so quickly. But I caught on. Spent a bunch of hours trying things out, and eventually got a better suit and weapons and all that. I'm getting good at the salvage-y type missions.
Like I said in another thread, it's a real joy for me to be a newbie in ED again. I thought that time was long past.

I get low 30s when I am in the Apex shuttle and there is nothing around, in the stations I get about 8 on a planet surface I get low teens. Your Sidewinder is parked in another system and the ship sales office is not working yet. Should both become available in phase 2.
What gfx card are you using? Mine isn't exactly top end (1050ti) but im able to get 25-30FPS on planets, 40 in starports and 90(hitting FPS cap) in Apex/Space. Oddly, Im finding Low graphic settings gives me a lower framerate than Medium or High (which seem to have no change in framerate when i switch between the two....)
GTX950M with 2Gb of 1600 DDR3, it is in a nearly 5 year old laptop that unfortunately I only spent what I could almost afford on not the best available at the time.
I'm a little concerned the spec requirements from Odessey will work their way over to Horizons. Have you seen any word on that from FDev?
Only that Odyssey has little or no optimisation done at this point and that it will not require the latest generation consoles to run it.
I am still trying and dying. 7 failed missions. Throwing in a frag grenade is a bit over the top while there's redsplater on my visor and the Cmdr is down. Npcs have a shoot first setting.
It looks like the container fetch missions are the ones to start with.

Needed the wider screen to keep the UI of the edge of the screen.
Please post a good binding set of keys when you are getting ahead of the game.

Since you don't even seem to wear a helmet, I'd rather assume this to be a bug than a feature.
Apparently bounties auto clear if you exit game for a few minutes.
oh oky doky, I'll try that then. I had only just completed one mission on one account for real credits. Yay me!....
Thanks for the feed back. I still have all night and early morning to get that suit up graded
edit: Re logged on , no fines showing. Now, to smile at the npc's as they scan me...

Think I may leave the alpha until the CMDR snapshots are transferred over. That will more closely akin to the game I'll be playing and it will give me more time to work out what I need to do and what I should have.

If you are going to take part in the Alpha at all I would suggest getting in there and sorting out your controls now. Will save you a lot of frustration later (just be frustrated now - LOL ).
