Well it close for a reason lol. That’s the way the list is purposely made. Think about it the otter species that’s a pretty popular request in its own right against the capybara which is what number 3 in requests. It’s obvious this is a similar animal vs highly requested for the most part as the op has discussed his dislikes of similar animals. Anyway here’s my picks:

Personally I prefer unique new animals to reskin typically. But if frontier has more similar animals on the way there’s some I like and others I’d pass on. The whole idea of true reskins is misleading as most animals require at least slight work to make them correct. You can’t shrink the Bengal tiger make it darker and say it’s a Sumatran. Doesn’t work that way.

In case you people have NEITHER cases, just pick the animal you like better (not for zoo) in real life, and put (I don't want any in zoo) in that way I can still see which animal you like better.

The whole idea of true reskins is misleading as most animals require at least slight work to make them correct. You can’t shrink the Bengal tiger make it darker and say it’s a Sumatran. Doesn’t work that way.

Yeah... you can see the point many people have right? We already have some giraffe and tigers, we don't have meerkats and porcupine, they may not be fully re-skins, but they are much too close to animals we already have.

A Masai Giraffe is a much more reskin than the Eland can EVER be for example.

And I can not understand why people would ever take the Black Bear over the Spectacled Bear, we already have 3 bears from North America...

And you are right, there are some animals VS in this list which I wanted to see if people have taste, they are the bears, deers, the foxes and the lion vs caracal, all other VS however, I'm fine with the outcomes, I have my favorites but I mostly like the creatures both.
I for example can never understand why people take the rather common Red Fox over the Grey Fox, they must not be familiar with the Grey Fox (which climbs trees and is much more beautiful), or are the Wolverine/Sub-Zero/Ryu/Tyrannosaurus/soccer crowd that only likes popular and common choices/ things.
