What is an animal that you really want but you're not sure is making it?

Orcas, not unrealistic, but there are so many people who are actively posting day and night and begging Frontier to not include it, that will most likely not make it in (less work for Frontier, so ofc they'll choose to not make an animal over making one)
I personally would love cetaceans for a biodiversity aspect and to role play that we’re the facilities that do it right... (like zoos learned with elephants and great apes) but alas the court of public opinion is against it so it’s probably not realistic (even though I really want them)

I respect why people don't want orcas in the game, but I'm not among them. I'd be perfectly fine with them in game. My main thought in why they might not make it in though is that Frontier may not do fully marine animals at all. But if they do, then they'd be among the top of animals I'd want to see.
Yea I really want them but the controversy and difficulty will lead Frontier not to do it...

I don’t feel any need for marine animals maybe except for the Manatee that I would love to see in the game one day.
They'd be fun for sure. They're so goofy cute looking. If they do a marine animal pack even without orcas/dolphins, sharks and cetaceans, I'd hope the manatee would be among those chosen. And stingrays. I loooooove stingrays.

Manatees are pretty much the only fully marine animal that modern zoos get right (and sea turtles). The trouble with cetaceans has always been that they are associated with circus acts (such as at SeaWorld), not conservation. It's also hard to imagine that a lot of people who want them are still riding Zoo Tycoon nostalgia even though that game was pure wish-fulfilment with no real agenda. Planet Zoo has an agenda - highlighting the real work that real zoos do, and the good that they do. Certainly it's not perfect but it does have a message attached to it that cetaceans would pretty much bury.

I'd be happy with manatees.

I understand the issue with cetaceans, I truly do. But the same issues apply to elephants and great apes. Georgia Aquarium has a really good Beluga program. I think that the issue is more than "Zoo Tycoon Fans Ewww" or "I saw Blackfish and SeaWorld is bad" (I don't mean to come off rude I apologize if I am). I prefer to have more player freedom and pure biodiversity. There are a ton of conservation issues cetaceans go through that PZ can definitely highlight and bring attention to. (And they can potentially make holding cetaceans insanely difficult or make it so you can only rescue them) There are certainly ways to do it but I understand that it's way too controversial for Frontier to tackle in the first place.

Would turn into more polar bear situations and I would prefer my game not feel like peta programmed it and ask for requirement absolutely no real life zoo meets. Then better leave them out totally and set your statement this way, instead of making money with controversial animals (we all know the polar bear was the seller-animal for that pack) and then tell me I'm a bad person for keeping it in a zoo. That's exactly how the ridicolous requirements feel.

I understand that point as well. And I definitely don’t use polar bears as much as I normally would. but real life facilities (Georgia Aquarium) have shown it can be done. If not Orcas then atleast Belugas like they specifically have. I feel like excluding a whole group or animals when some have shown decent success in captivity is a little peta-y in its delivery. Just cause most circus acts don’t do it right doesn’t mean that it can’t be done right

I feel like people using this argument forget that it's easier to provide adequate care to land animals than fully aquatic ones (of course it's still difficult to care for apes and elephants, but I believe my point still stands). I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that it's also harder to grasp what cetaceans may need to live fulfilled lives since their environment is so drastically different to ours.

Yea having the whole ocean as your home is a drastic change so I definitely understand that it’s impossible for us to truly know how these animals feel. So in real life I don’t support captivity of cetaceans until we learn more about if we can properly care for them. My only argument was that this is a game and it’s nice to role play as if we’re the facility that does it right. But as players we’re not a monolith and we want different things and I know realism is important to most players. So I truly believe it is against Frontier’s best interest to add cetaceans.

One animal I'd really love to see in the game but really doubt is coming is the Greater Bilby. They're as much an icon of Australian conservation as the koala or the devil and the staple nocturnal house animal here, however due to their small size, nocturnal habits, obscure nature and the fact they aren't present in zoos outside Australia their chances of making the cut are slim to say the least. Would be my 1# pick for a nocturnal pack anyway (nocturnal houses are always my favourite parts of zoos so I'll be happy with proper nocturama functionality regardless).

Nocturnal species pack would be very interesting for them to add in the game! It would allow us to create real nocturnal houses for all our animals

I'll see the Great Bilby and raise you a Numbat (card joke reference.) I don't even put it on any lists because there is literally zero chance it'll make it in, but they're such interesting creatures.
I once proposed the numbat myself. They're awesome little animals, very unique, but you're right that they probably won't ever make it in unless Frontier decides to revisit the first four DLC's in some fashion (even then I assume they'd go for more 'general' animals).
