What is an animal that you really want but you're not sure is making it?

I once proposed the numbat myself. They're awesome little animals, very unique, but you're right that they probably won't ever make it in unless Frontier decides to revisit the first four DLC's in some fashion (even then I assume they'd go for more 'general' animals).
Yeah if they did another 4/5 animals I can't imagine the numbat would be in the next four most likely. Maybe if they did 8 more animals, but even then...they don't seem to have a lot of support.

Oooof. I didn't realize how little. They've made nobody's top 30 list so far. That isn't to say people don't want them, but no one considers them a priority. I mean, I'd love to have them in there but I realize they're just not popular for some reason, literally my "why bother" animal that didn't make that list.

It’s a long shot... if they do 8 they’re probably doing Oceania as a whole and a pack would look something like:

Tasmanian Devil
Emu
Platypus
Tree kangaroo
Smaller macropod
Wombat
Kiwi
Thorny lizard or frilled lizard

The numbat unfortunately, seems really unlikely

Yes, that's what I'm talking about! The likely next four if they do them- Tasmanian Devil, Emu, Wombat, Frilled Lizard/Platypus and give us the darn numbat, little blue penguin and the echidna. What's kind of sad is I can't even see how two of those wouldn't be an exhibit animal, and I'm not even talking about the frilled lizard, which would also be likely. And the platypus I don't even know how they'd handle. I definitely want and see the support for the platypus but it's so unusual I just don't know if they'll devote a rig just for it (as it's definitely going to be used for any other animal)

Why is everybody talking about how hard it would be to create Platypus? It’s been done before, birds lay eggs too, easy.
Platypus are tiny. That wouldn't be a huge problem if they were terrestrial (such as the possible meerkat) but because they are aquatic, and the current limitations for diving are so extreme, it seems like it would be a bigger challenge than most other animals.

The baby otters can swim can’t they? And the baby caimans. Can’t they just scale down the model. I don’t think it’s beyond Frontier‘s capacity.

I don't think it's beyond them, no. I haven't played with the otters yet, but I have to assume the baby otters need the same requirements as the adults in terms of diving. It's already too much for both the otter and the caiman, it would be just absurd for the playtpus.

Yea the diving requirements are crazy but I’d rather have them than not. Regardless of the requirements

Question to non-europeans: How common are Platypus in your zoos? Just curious, because absolutely no EAZA Zoo has them.

Regarding deep diving: I hope the Devs still look into it -.- It has basically been proven that the animation also do work in more shallow water.

Yea as long as you have one point that’s the requirement they can swim in shallow water...

platypus are most commonly found in Australian zoos of course. But you can find them in the US in San Diego Zoo.

I see. At least more "wide spread" than the Prob. Monkey, which can't even thrive well outside SEA... Personally, I wouldn't use them though, I think. But that's just personal preference.

Platypus would be really cool. I really hope we will come back to Australia in a more widespread way like an Ozeania animal pack.

1. Platypus
2. Tasmanian devil
3. Kiwi
4. Emu
5. Wombat
6. Tree Kangaroo
7. Echidna
8: Exhibit

The same I hope for Central and South America:
1. Sloth
2. Ozelot
3. Cabypara
4. Spectacled Bear
5. Maned Wolf
6. Giant Armadillo
7. Magellan Penguin or Nandu
8. Exhibit

In case of Africa there are so much animals I would like to have that I also would pay the double prize if we would get 16 animals :D
