Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Had a quick spin through that transcript and can't find that exact quote, agreed. He does discuss some of those elements here and here, but doesn't come to the 200 player conclusion that I can see.

There's this previous one in there:

And I can stand up this similar Sean Tracy one pretty much:

Ultimately it's not like they haven't made comparable claims though:

Erin Roberts (June, 2018)

But yeah, could do with hotlinks on these Quavers posts. And they maybe paraphrase a bit too much just to fit the format sometimes. Do like them, and they're generally spot on, but that quote is tough to place.

Did find these bits though while scanning through 😁

Agony, looks like your base ownership bet is back on ;)

Pay to Wander Around Corridors Less ;)
Looks like he's got the source wrong, as the photo is from the infamous "I absolve myself" episode.

At 44m28s mark the youtube transcript has:
we'll be able to you know so I think what will happen is with the object container streaming and they're moving so batch model of physics we'll be able to get the player count in any one server to at least 200 or so and then the server meshing will allow us to go quite a bit beyond that in terms of people in areas or instances

Hard to believe its been 6 years since the goons created this masterpiece.

Link to full PDF below. Won't post all the images as some are borderline no-no for this forum.

The video author seems to be running on an SSD no?

nvidia GTX 1660ti 6gb. 8gb de ram / SSD / intel I5 9300H. But still I am surprised by the choppines in the SC images, I thought those specs were enough for a reasonable experience in SC no? Is it a RAM or CPU issue?

Minimum spec calls for 16 GB of RAM.

That person would get a pop up warning every time they start Star Citizen that they don't have enough RAM.

Are regulators and/or consumer protection agencies interested at all in this project? If they do, do they have the means to intervene one way or another at all?
They don't seem to give a flying squirrel f..foxhole.

Only thing CIG could be charged with is investor fraud. The advertising agencies seem satisfied with all the it's alpha early access, it's a pre-order shenanigans.

As long as they pretend to be making something, and getting money from suckers, they're good. And they know it.

Even if CIG continues getting to be reasonably funded by whales or additional external investments, can CR and CIG still eventually deliver at all a reasonable quality product? I think their history track record so far suggest that may not be possible as is, even with record funding. CIG may need to either settle for an incomplete and luckluster product in some form (some kind of early access release maybe that postpones actual release reckoning day as much as possible) or hand it over to a more competent team that is more willing to take compromises in "fidelity" and leave tons of promises on the cutting floor with clear deadlines for release.
CR's track record shows he will not deliver because of the continued funding. He will simply keep expanding the scope. Monthly reports for SQ42 demonstrate exactly that, just like plans to expand their studios further because of a single exceptional year of phenomenal sales.

I know and recognise this kind of narcissism - as long as the spice flows, he will continue on the path of enjoying and prolonging the development, not of delivering and worrying about what happens when the monetisation streams slowly dry out. He is not a saver but a spender.

Got to laugh at all the people who bought a new PC in 2014 to run Star Citizen
I can't believe anyone buying a PC in 2014 wouldn't have updated it piece by piece by now as standard practise...good grief, I've even updated my toaster and kettle since then. Such a dinousaurian piece of electronic nonsense bought back then would hardly run Minecraft, far less Star Citizen ;)
