🐾 Planet Zoo: Update 1.5 and Southeast Asia Animal Pack out now! 🐾

It's a figure of speech.
Well perhaps they should just write I because I rarely come across people using collective terms as figures of speech.
Perhaps it's just the mob mentality or bigging up something you personally like to make it seem like everyone likes it. See it all over the internet.

No, it's just a figure of speech, used all the time in many languages including English. There's only two interpretations of the phrase; "we all" as in "literally everybody in the world" (impossible) or "we all" as in "the group I belong to and me" which in this case would refer to the poster and people who agree with him. If you're not part of that group then you should know implicitly that it isn't referring to you.

There's no "mob mentality" involved. This website is the furthest from an internet echo chamber you can reasonably get on such an already niche topic - people agree and disagree on points all the time here.

Oh, okay.
Just when the poster says "we all" it seems to suggest that "most / all forum users".
Because they could have written "a lot of us" or "many of us" or even "a fair few of us"...

I think this might be the Thread where it would be most likely to get a official Answer about it. Will someday a Fix be released for the Problem with the washed out Pictures and Videos on Billboards? I'm currently trying to fix a Sign but I can't get it to work properly. If it isn't possible to fix it, can we at least get a small Ingame Text that explains how to adjust the Color Profile?

Urufu1997 I sent you a private message, letting you know how to fix the issue. It is really not a issue more a limitation. I will post it in here in any case, you never know who else might be affected.

1. First off, in order for the colors in the custom billboard options to show up at the same quality of the media image you are attempting to upload, you need to make sure the image is a PNG. If the image is not, or if you are creating your own media/logos/etc, then I would recommend using an application live Canva, that is the very best out there, I have been using it for years and it allows for maximum flexibility. You will need to upload your image to Canva and then design your billboard, by choosing the corresponding size you want. When you download your work from canva always make sure it is as PNG. When you place your PNG image in the Planet Zoo media folder, and you select it in game, it should display the colors exactly as you see them outside of the game.

2. There is a catch though, and something you will need to work around. Depending on the direction you are building your zoo, there will always be a side that gets affected by the game's advance ambient effects, one side will always look like light is reflected against it. Nothing that can be done yet, so just make sure the media you want visible at its highest quality is facing one of the other three sides that will showcase it in all its glory.

3. Here is the other issue if you are using the lit version of the billboards, then it does not matter if the images are PNG or not, it will look completely off, the quality will be horrible, and that is the price you are paying for using the lit billboards. The upside of this is that there is currently a mod in the works that will allow you to use lit billboards that display the images at their highest quality setting, this will come alongside a few variations of billboard sizes that are a little more relevant for zoo design instead of what is currently available. There will also be a circular billboard, a variation of the 1:1 size that will allow you to create images in the same shape and size using canva and add a little more character to the game.

Hope this helps.

Danny, thanks for the info. But what about videos showing up too bright? Anyone know a fix for this?

Will check on the videos for you, I wonder if it is the same situation as the images not displaying their full quality on the lit version of the billboards. Have you tried the non lit version?

Was this problem with billboards also in Planet Coaster or is this new issue because of the updated lightning in PZ?

While I've searched for a Eternity yesterday for a Solution I've stumbled across a Thread in another Forum, that described the same Problem in Planet Coaster

Not a big Fan of needing to upload my Pictures to save them again but I will try Canva. There's just the Problem that I can't even create a Account currently. Hope it will be possible in a few Minutes. I assume it would be way better than trying to figure out how I would need to manually change the Color Profile

If you use Windows 10 there's a workaround to avoid getting washed out images ingame. If you open your .png image with "Paint 3D" and save it using that program it should solve the problem.
Tried this because Canva also didn't help for some Reason and it's at least a bit better than before but still too bright
Edit: The Memorial Sign with the same Picture that I just put inside the Koala House looks way more like the Original (it's in a darker Area)
So maybe this is the best it can get?

Edit: just did a Test and it turned out that the used Screen causes the Problem. For some Reason the 2mx2m Screen is brighter than the normal Screens. I've tested it on the 2m TV Screen and there the Colors are shown correctly. I really hope they will fix it because only the 2mx2m Screen really fits there.
Now to the really funny Part. It looks perfect on the lit Screen

Videos show too bright on the lit and unlit boards, though it is worse on the lit billboards.

Saving the picture thru paint as an PNG is another solution as well. If you are creating custom media, then Canva, save as PNG, open in Paint, save as PNG and place in the PZ media folder.

That is really weird, it is the complete opposite for me, the lit screens are basically useless, and I try avoiding the tv ones because of the same reason. The picture you showed is also a little odd, maybe not the best example, the colors in the original are non existent, at least I can not see them. In any case I should have mentioned that what I describe works with outside media, not sure about pictures taken from the actual game, as your graphic settings would probably come into play as well as a number of other things. The pic you showed for example looks like it was taken at night, but I know you probably just altered to serve your purpose.

Ok, that's really weird. I've just tested it with a normal Screen lit and unlit and there it is the same with the lit Screen showing it perfect and the unlit Screen being washed out. I assume it might be hard for Frontier to fix it when it is not the same for every Player.

Regarding the Picture : I've used a grey Background and added additional Lights because I didn't like how dark my Albino Koala would've looked. The only Thing that slightly bothers me is that the Tree looks so extremely bright due to the Lights

Yeah that is absolutely nuts, how do you fix something that does not work the same for everyone? Really strange, as I said if you rotate them around and the image does not show properly that is one thing, but for it to be completely off, that is just so weird. My setting is ultra what is yours?
