Yeah CG rewards tend to become available after server update on Thursday morning. Same was with the railguns a couple of weeks back.
Will be Friday, as stated in the OP: "...placed into storage at the Alexandria megaship in the Delphi system by the 30th of April 3307." This could be any time until 23:59 UTC on Friday. :)

Hey guys,

So the CG said that we'd unlock the Cannons, as well as receive one in storage. Can one assume that the unlocks will also become available after the weekly maintenace?

o>

If Tier 1 is reached, the top 75% of contributors will have Guardian Gauss Cannons unlocked and a fixed Class 2 Rating B Guardian Gauss Cannon placed into storage at the Alexandria megaship in the Delphi system by the 30th of April 3307.

CG week hasnt even ended yet, thats Thursday regardless when the 'tick' happens. So Thursday 29th or Friday 30th.

Damn, I was too late. Have a cargo hold with 250 artefacts. What a waste of time. I just hate it. Why can't they just make it possible to overcharge this kind of missions.

You can still sell them you know? For free credits at that. Just not at overinflated prices.
I know and I did. But it is not about money. It is about wether or not being part of a community event. In my opinion it is kind of poor game mechanics to be thrown out of the event like that. The timetable was scheduled until Thursday, so I think everybody should have the chance to participate until Thursday.
When reaching the target number of the event on Tuesday they should rather unlock some bonus for the overdone effort than just closing the event. Game mechanics should rather be rewarding than punishing. It's that easy.

For this CG there was an unplanned increase in activity....
Vodafone and private fibre networks are to blame for this CG going so well and fast...
Vodafone buy access rights to cheap fibre network that was installed for company access but they sell extra bandwidth as side ISP to domestic users.
Then when the "how do I do this CG topic shows up" the demo videos can be uploaded and people will sit through 720p video...
They would not have sat through a 360p low bit rate video... lol and uploading at 100kbs over Adsl for a 1 hour video would not have happened...

We already have a bonus applied for finishing early we got more money and we get a guardian engineertech broker at a station for an extra week than if the CG failed to reach tier 5... The final max tier is a gamble on Fdevs part.. Because CGs can fail very easy to get above tier 2...

From the CG text:-
"The initiative begins on the 22nd of April 3307 and will run for one week. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately."

That's how CGs work. OK, it's annoying to be caught out, but now you know it's a good plan to check on progress throughout the week.

I always check my onboard sheet for updates on the Nav panel. As the total nears the finish of the top tier, I stop collecting and head back to unload. There's no excuse for being late.

Galnet update as result of CG...

Pilots Federation ALERT
Aegis’s anti-xeno research programme has launched with the mass delivery of artefacts constructed by the Guardians.
Many ancient caskets, orbs, relics, tablets, totems and urns were found in the ruins of the mysterious civilisation that collapsed over a million years ago. Pilots then transported these to the Delphi system for analysis.
Professor Alba Tesreau made this announcement:
“Everyone at Aegis is thankful for the impressive effort made by the galactic community. If we can gain new insights into Guardian technology from these samples, then funding and resources for our work may continue.”
Aegis has agreed to pursue the development of weaponry and defences that might prove more effective against the Thargoids. However, as yet the research is in its early stages and there are no signs of imminent breakthroughs.
Pilots who delivered Guardian artefacts can now collect their rewards from Aegis Research at the Alexandria megaship in the Delphi system.

To point it straight: I am well aware how CG's work and that it is my own fault missing any progress in this event. Not looking for excuses here.

But it is still my opinion that the game design of this CG could be better. Sometimes real life kicks in and some people are not able to check every few hours what the progress is. Especially with this event, when on monday evening the event was not even half done and on tuesday evening it was already over.

Nah. The rate of progress was steady as usual. It's not like you even missed out on anything special, count yourself lucky :D

Ah, I see that I memorized that wrong. Seems like I checked the progress on Sunday, rather than on Monday. Tuesday I was not able to play because of work and Wednesday I was busted. True nothing really special missed.
Well looks like I am alone with my opinion regarding CG's game mechanics. Fair enough. If the majority of players likes it as it is, I guess Frontier is doing it right.

So far I did not find the guardian weapon 2b, I looked in storage and nothing, I did the unlocking in the broker and even so I do not have anything saved in the storage, I will keep waiting
