Yes, as everyone knows, the serious cases of Covid mainly concern very old people with commorbidities and overweight or obese people.

Vaccination is not an absolute emergency outside of these two categories.

I think they may be red listed unless something changes. Only an issue driving and if you don't use an alternate ferry route though. I suppose it would be possible so set up a safe travel corridor from the chunnel to the rest of Europe.

I spoke for my country of course. I also see it around me. Most people who will not get the Covid vaccine are people who are vaccinated for a lot of other things.

And then there are the official figures: In a study conducted in mid-December, when we take a closer look at the reasons for people refusing the Covid-19 vaccine, only 14% of them say they are opposed to the vaccination in general.

We've got all the residents vaccinated in 95% of our care homes.

I don't like repeating myself, but some people chose not to listen and sometimes, will need to told, more then once.

Yes I am very sceptical. Life has taught me to be, just that. Mostly because the world, is full of people, who will lie, for all sorts of reasons. At the same time: Once I have the measure of someone, then I can relate to their perspective and take it into account, with any future interactions. Be that being polite and considering what I have to say, or dismissing them, with the contempt, they deserve.

If they are anti-vax refuse them the job obviously. If they can't be vaccinated then take them on, that's why we push for as many people to be vaccinated as possible to reduce or even eliminate the potential for infection in those people. It's done specifically to protect them.

I have lived under section 60 of the mental heath act and had a number of burly men in white coats, hold me down, while another sticks a needle in me. Trust me, the general public, would not find this acceptable. No matter how you try to sell it.

Seems more than a little overstated. There are already professions and visa's for certain destinations (even in/from France) that require certain vaccinations. Covid is no different.

Well, i can only give you fair warning that when the virus was given free reign in our care homes during our first wave, 54% of all deaths were in that setting...more than hospitals.
Just some food for thought as the virus will not mess about if it gets in there.

I’m not unfamiliar with sectioning, in my case a friend. In hindsight, would you say that you required that injection and those burly men? Did it help you or your loved ones at the time?
My friend would have harmed himself or others and although challenging to all involved, we understood and accepted the requirement at the time.
Is that the same for vaccines?
