How do I literally hand in the data during the current CG? I've signed up to support Shadow President Winters, I'm docked at Ito, and I have the requested data in my inventory. I have also tried running delivery missions to and from Ito. I'm sure I'm missing something small and obvious.

In the Contacts panel there should be a "Research Contact" or something like that (not the Material Trader) - you hand them in there.
