CG predictions...

I guess you'd have to say this isn't a close fought CG after all - the Imperial side has won every hour, and also has more sign-ups. I was kind of expecting the Feds to pick up more support at the weekend as they usually end up with more supporters overall, but they're still behind in sign-ups - so a lot of players are signing up for 'who is the leader' (or have bought into the RP).

Imps should hit T1 today*, Feds still unlikely to hit T1, though it may be close.
* Edit: When I say 'today' I mean 'Sunday'. Next 24 hours basically.

No Saturday bump, at the moment it's about level with Friday (a few hours of 'Saturday' to go, but they're quiet hours). If I hadn't seen the contributor numbers go up I'd think it was the same people just grinding away at the CGs.

Considering last week at this time FDev had to increase the tiers as the CG would have been over ages ago.

Without a "prize" on offer this week it will be interesting to see how much the gap widens if/when it becomes clear that the Federal side are not going to make Tier 1, either because Fed support wanes or some CMDRs switch to the winning side. Was that already happening Saturday, or was the gap compared to Friday due mainly to more CMDRs signing up and fighting for the Imperial side?

If after NI hit T1, and reveals a billion credit reward, then the Federation will got a boost from the double side players collecting all rewards - this way the Feds will hit T1, too.
This will not change the outcome however.

Well, never thought I would ever see this happening: The Empire is seriously going to win a CG without the FDevs needing to give them some sort of advantage like back in Ackwada. And in addition to that they're even going to win against the Fednecks... o_O

...I ❤️ it. More of that in the future, please. (y)
More of it in the future... hmm, I can see it happen, if Hadrian's Navy expands more :)

The story continues with?

"Meanwhile the Federation made a successful diversionary operation in space, a small group of elite soldiers of the President carried over a surface operation and got the important data for the ongoing investigation - proven the Neo-Marlinist Order of Mudhrid aided the NMLA on Imperator Duval's instructions."

No problem with the plot anymore :)

PSA = more confirmation in game that the Pay per kill is still over the x4 limit announced in the rebalance for this CG CZ...
This time confirmed first kill was 7.7 x displayed value...
50,520 displayed kill credited with 360,858...
Next kill credited with 112,066 total now on transaction tab 918,726... bonus x4.9
Next kill credited with 45,488 total now on transaction tab 1,409,856... bonus x10.7
This way over the up to x4 announced pay for Combat bonds on this CG.., over double pay on this CG CZ...

Word of warning: According to System Chat there're a few hackers (invincible one-hitters) in open right now, at least one of them at Dyson.

Did you see that thread a few weeks ago? Hoping its not the same 2 people or Frontier will lose even more respect for not acting. Hope its not as want to believe they will act decisively...if slowly.

Back on topic - Assuming next week CG is something to do with Alliance (remember them?) elections and week after might even be Salvation event...does that mean ACT wont have made any significant conclusion for 3 weeks yet? Or no major consequences either way if they do? Or is Salvation Theta 7? And when will the Dredgers come back, are they waiting for us to find those ships in the screenshot, there cant be that many Stars with rings and surely someone who knows how has searched by now?

Or is Salvation Theta 7?
He said he was unconnected to modern politics. Sure, he could have been lying about that, but on that basis she could just as easily be Torval.

If Salvation is someone we've heard of before, and isn't directly lying about anything they have revealed, then ...
- Jaques fits most of the description, but doesn't seem inclined to that sort of ego in terms of "saving humanity"
- any of the male Independent Engineers except Tah, Qwent or Palin ... Nemo feels the most likely to be interested in biotech, of the remaining ones.
- someone at Vitadyne? But Professor Katrien Rook is the only named person connected with that, so that doesn't really fit with "heard of before"
- Carl Simmons (chief medical officer for the Cerebrus Plague)? So obscure that it might as well be someone new.
- Roy Casimir (head of Holloway Biosciences)? Definite biotech and exobiology interests. Again, didn't come across as having that sort of ego, though.

Can't find anyone else even somewhat plausible on the wiki's list of Independent characters or that I remember from elsewhere, so could well be someone new.

If ACT concludes that Delacroix was lying to them and Nova Imperium wins, then the consequences of that can mostly happen offscreen - it'll break up the Scordato-Whyte deal over the Muhdrid escapees a bit though they could probably hand Delacroix over to the Empire and salvage the rest of it, and the Empire will probably settle for some formal statement of disavowal of Mandu from the Federal side rather than retaliating militarily.

Gan Romero?

Bonds ratio up to 9:5 and contributor ratio slightly up to 5:4 in the CGs - a bit of widening over the weekend doesn't seem unusual for the competitive ones. Not quite as close as Ackwada, then, but still pretty good.

Gan Romero?
That would certainly be a twist! Other than the "man of science" bit - which didn't really describe his pre-disappearance career but who knows what he's got up to since - it's a pretty decent fit for what's been said so far.

That said, we've also got the implicit bits: whoever Salvation is they have access to enough "formal" resources to pay out billions of credits via Hind Mine. An Engineer or a faction leader like Jaques or Casimir would have no problem arranging that ... if it is Gan Romero, he's presumably under some other alias returned and obtained those resources.

A wolf in sheep's clothing perhaps, old Gan.

trade and bounty are a safe bet, thargoid attack as an outsider?
"A transmission has been intercepted, aimed at Alioth from Thargoid territory. Our experts have determined that it loosely translates as 'Put Tharg the Mighty on the ballot paper, or Irkutsk gets it.' Alliance leaders are considering how best to respond."

So I'm presuming that with the Alliance campaign restarting https://www.elitedangerous.com/news/galnet/alliance-election-campaigns-resume we can expect them to be the target of the CGs this week. Maybe Trade? 🤷‍♀️

Edit: Or the classic Trade / Bounty combo to 'protect the alliance hustings in Alioth'
If the elections are on the 27th then the week 20-27 May would seem more likely for a CG around that. Not sure what we'd get this week. (Though with the disruption around the Odyssey release, both being filler would be sensible)

Metagaming, it'd be tricky for Kaine to win the election - Mahon staying as a power but Kaine being PM and not being one would be strange ; Kaine becoming a power there's not really space for ; Kaine replacing Mahon as the Alliance power and keeping the territory wouldn't work well. And Kaine doesn't feel well-developed enough as a character in general, just yet.

So I think a "support the election" rather than a "support the candidates" CG seems more likely.
