Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

3.13.1H PTU All backers, knocking out patches on a late Sunday.

Known Issues
  • Items missing after update / Character Reset / pledge change
  • Abnormally long delay between pick up storing of fps mineables/harvestables/items
  • The customizable nameplates do not appear to be visible on multiple ship skins and variants
  • On landing pads, trolleys are unable to be pushed / pulled up the entryway / cargo ramp, or elevator ramps.
  • Constellation can despawn when flying 30km away after undocking
  • Docking with a moving ship lags behind, causing a large snap into the docked position
  • Trolleys found in Area18 hangars are clipping through the floor, removing functionality
  • Players can spawn facing the wrong way at the start of the match or after dying in Arena Commander

Bug Fixes

  • Players should no longer damage ships while exiting and entering them
  • 300 series customizations should now appear in game (this may not work on the PTU and should work once 3.13.1 goes LIVE)

Known issues list is getting smaller.

IIRC, any progress I make during fleet week is saved for later if I decide to buy the cheapest ship, correct? Also, fleet week opens up fancier ships that normally cost a bunch, right? So I could get a bigger ship and run bigger missions and save credits for a rainy day should I decide to buy into this game later on, potentially buying a better ship using these game-earned credits?

After many years playing ED, my humble Cobra III is still one of my favorite ships to fly, so being "limited" to a smaller ship in SC would probably not bother me. I'd like something bigger than an SLF, perhaps the SC equivalent to a Cobra (or even the Adder). Is this doable by just playing the game? Is it doable without repeating a boring grind x1000?

BTW, everything I own in RDO I did by playing the game. I never purchased gold, and I rarely felt like I was grinding, just playing for fun. I'm usually pretty easy to please (I don't need the fastest horse or biggest ship).

Correct, although anything earned in-game (credits, ships) will be wiped at points prior to any official launch. Ships & credits bought with $ will persist throughout. (Although I wouldn’t recommend leaping onto that slippery slope ;))

There hasn’t been a wipe for ages now, but CIG say more will definitely come. (And the number of credit exploits in the game, not to mention the dollar valuations of the persistent ships, practically guarantees it ;))

Regarding earning lower tier ships in game you should check out S. Belmont’s recent adventures in this very thread :). Just be wary that certain passtimes can see you lose money due to instability etc, on top of any gameplay risk. (Such as renting mining vehicles, then losing them to bugs etc).

Oh crap, that's right - this game gets wiped on a consistent basis, doesn't it?

Oi....

What's the cheapest Cobra-III like ship? I'm not talking design (it doesn't need to look like a Cobra), but rather size and flexibility. I'm assuming one can bypass SC's version of a Sidewinder and buy directly into a better ship as their starter ship.

This whole "wipe your progress over and over" approach is a real arrow in the knee of my enthusiasm...

What he said.

I haven't had a reset at all yet, and i have bought a lot of expensive ships with in game money, its been at least a year, maybe more since this level of persistence between patches came in.

But there will be rests before the game launches, they have made this warning a few times.

Edit: at this point i wouldn't mind a reset, my inventory is horrendously cluttered with crap i don't want.
