Game Discussions Mass Effect remastered!

I played the sheet out of the trilogy and the ME3MP. The only reason to buy would be to get all the DLC of which I only ever played the ME3 ones. Not a high priority purchase.
Just wait a bit and it will be on sale for sure. For now I just got to many games and not enough time.

Here's a question - does MER look better than MEA? I've yet to get MEA because of the negative reviews, but it does offer a story I've not experienced, unlike MER.

If MER does look better than MEA, it makes me wonder why they didn't include MEA as part of MER...

Mamma mia!

I started my playthrough last night with the remastered ME...quite enjoying it so far. I think I only played through it the once when it was first released on the Xbox so can't really remember the ins and outs of the main story. I've played through ME2 and 3 plus all the DLC a few times..since the combat was better thought out by the time they appeared.

This has unfixable negative mouse acceleration. It's unfixable, because it's hardcoded. No .ini tweaks, mods or .dll files will help right now.
"But what is this negative mouse acceleration (NMA)" you might ask yourself now, "Why is it so bad?"
It's very simple: The faster you move your mouse, the slower the mouse moves ingame. So whenever you want to turn around quickly, you don't turn around at all, and whenever high precision is needed, you might move faster than expected.
(I'm not sure why this is even a thing anywhere, it just makes no sense)

This review on steam pretty much put a nail in the coffing for me. Looks like just a cash grab. EA/Bioware live up to their reputation.
I tried this out and I can't notice any negative acceleration. I can spin 2.5 to 3 times in one sweep of the mouse (<6 inches of mouse pad). Actually, I find it to be a bit too fast at times. Maybe I'm just not perceptive enough to notice it. shrugs

I'm still reverting to form and playing with an Xbox elite controller :D
In the old ME1 for PC, it was the only way. KBM was terrible before. The only thing that's kind'a weird right now (PC/KBM) is that sprint and action keys are the same, space bar... !?! I can see why they move sprint because the old wheel action is on shift now (and it's a lot better than before), but the action key should be E. And you can't split them in settings. :/ Weird. But you get used to it.

There used to be a paradigm change between ME1 and ME2 on what the spacebar does. Always got me when playing through the trilogy.

So... I can't figure out how to map the quick buttons. Tried multiple ways but to no avail.
You can drag and drop your powers.

I'm really liking the reworked ME1. I started the franchise on ME2 and then went to ME1 and thought it was a bit dire all round and didn't even finish the single play through that I started.

I tried that. They won't move when I try to drag them. It's weird.

After you've played ME2-3, ME1 feels very ooooooold. :D But the legendary upgrade is really nice.

I played Mass Effect Andromeda to death, did the campaign, majority of the side missions etc and wished for more. I was very unhappy that they decided no DLC for the game. I enjoyed the story and characters on this despite all the negative press. Had a few graphical issues to begin with and a lot of them were fixed in the patches. Again for me the RPG side is the most important part. It is just a different game as there is no Commander Shepard and Normandy.

Just bought the Legendary edition on Xbox One X yesterday and am a couple hours in playing ME1.
I played the living daylights out of this trilogy back in the days when I was still a pc gamer.
The remaster is excellent imho and ME1 looks and plays much better then how I remember it.

It feels a bit like coming home, one of the best rpg games out there imho and 60euro for all three of them plus all the dlc, no brainer for me.

Loving my playthrough of ME1 so far...besides the story, I never had many fond memories of the first one despite keeping my created ME1 Shepard character throughout the entire trilogy.

Every time I started a new playthrough before the remastered version, I started at ME2 using my Shepard end of ME1 save (Spared Wrex, Kaiden Alenko dies.. etc, etc)...ME1's crude control system by comparison to 2&3 just put me off going right back to the start. Now that it's all been remastered, I'll get the full experience all over again from beginning to end.

Here's to my future love affair with Tali all over again...I never recovered from watching her take a swan dive off that cliff in ME3 (due to not having enough paragon points to save both her and Legion). I was so emotionally wrecked, I couldn't face playing the game for 3 weeks :D

Now that was proper story telling in a game. The emotional highs and lows, falling in love with Edi's voice (acted by Tricia Helfer), the interaction between her and Joker... feeling cheated with never seeing Tali without her helmet, even after the love...and death scenes.... Loved every minute ;)

What? You let Kaiden die? I liked him a lot better then Ashley, not for a love affair mind you but as a team mate.
Never had an affair with Tali either, it was Liara or Miranda.
The story is the best I've ever played in any game and a lot better then seen in a lot of movies too, a real emotional rollercoaster.
The fact that your adventure continues throughout the three games makes this trilogy a huge icon and an example as to how good games can be, sadly enough there are so little of them made.
This trilogy marked the glory days of Bioware, to bad Andromeda wasn't up to par, still a reasonable good game though imho.

So I'm still the only person that prefers ME1 over ME2 😃

I like Me2 better but all the dlc does add to this preference, Me1 only had one story dlc while Me2 had a lot more, the crew loyalty missions in Me2 are excellent too and added a lot to the bond you get with each character.
I rather look at the whole trilogy as one big story though and not as three sperate games, imho they're all good especially combined as one tale.
