I did a couple in the Herc C2 for the same miserable profit margins just for something to do, normally I'd turn my nose up at such poor payouts...but generally trade doesn't work and hasn't reliably since 3.10. They've added the commodity alerts to Mobiglas as a band-aid for Invictus to make it look like it's working for the influx of newbies but haven't addressed the underlying problem with general trade at all.Last night in the PTU, xerostatelive did two runs with his caterpillar, using the Commodity Price Alerts.
- Bought and transported $7 million worth of goods to make 110,000 aUEC
- Bought and transported $12 million worth of goods to make 140,000 aUEC
Assuming the game was completely stable, are these rates OK? Assuming it would take less than 30 minutes to do each run.I did a couple in the C2 for much the same miserable profit margins, normally I'd turn my nose up at such poor payouts...but generally trade doesn't work and hasn't reliably since 3.10. Ah, I need to try those!
But you don't need a big ship for those halt surveillance-missions eighter, I've done those with Aurora. Very easy once you get the hang of it. Scan the area until you find and tag three illegal monitors, then destroy them before timer runs out or bad guys come to investigate who is screwing their monitoring.
A Caterpillar load of Titanium which takes (depending on stock levels) a 410k aUEC outlay will bring in roughly 103k aUEC profit on 576 SCU...journey time is from Arial to Lorville, which is around 10 minutes max. The profit rises sharply when transporting Laranite or Agricium...it's finding a reliably stocked supply point for both of those that's the problem. Restocking levels on the more lucrative stuff were always low meaning that when everybody and their dog in a Caterpillar were headed to the outposts that sold it, the stocks never had a chance to recover.Assuming the game was completely stable, are these rates OK? Assuming it would take less than 30 minutes to do each run.
So... for risking 12 million (I assume aUEC) you make 140k?Bought and transported $12 million worth of goods to make 140,000 aUEC
Yes. A list of ship's price. Is 140k aUEC worth a lot? Idk the prices of stuff in-game. I really haven't followed that closely.
Grey-market website?Yes. A list of price ships.
A fully loaded Cat? Is there a dog equivalent... What is this technospeak babble? I've lost the plot over the number of Star Citizen Jpegs over the years... Caterpillar? idk
If anything those low profits are actually somewhat realistic.Trading is just like it is in ED, you have to find the most profitable routs and if someone with a fully load Cat gets there before you prices at that outpost crash, Those damned Cat owners, when ever i see one i have an itch to blow it out of the sky![]()
What about the Eric Wingman version?Yes Cat is short for Caterpillar, Connie short for Constellation, the Base Freelancer is the Space P###, the Avanger is the Penguin. the Cutlass is the Cutty, We, that is my Org, call the Base Starfarer the Lesnick and the Military one the Lesnick of War, SC insiders will get that one...
What about the Eric Wingman version?
Divide it by the amount you need to earn it. 12 million, was it? That is the capital you nees to make the deal upfront. So it's like 1.2% return on your investment which is put at full risk of loss. It's a really bad return. Is 140k aUEC worth a lot? Idk the prices of stuff in-game. I really haven't followed that closely.
Ship you can buy or rent in game with aUEC.Grey-market website?
Depends if you like playing games more or spending money on a continuing alpha. So am I crazy for being more excited about Fleet Week than I am about Odyssey?
