Why? Just why? We are lemmings to the word of Frontier.
How about at least putting a server status that is honest: Eg: "We are in the pub and don't give a rats a*s"?
Because if you did you would say download today, play tomorrow. Don't you guys get embarrassed?
6 years of this man. It is certainly a valid comment. There are a lot of valid complaints today. This is not one of them.
Server crashes immediately after the biggest update ever? It's not unreasonable. Give them time.6 years of this man. It is certainly a valid comment.
It happens. Even the Apple Store (a company with more money than many countries) goes down during major releases. It'll clear up in a day or two. Now all the other problems with Odyssey, they'll likely be with us for a whole lot longer, if not forever.6 years of this man. It is certainly a valid comment.
Six years of Elite and decades of online games, and still you don't know that every single major patch or expansion in a game usually causes problems like this.6 years of this man. It is certainly a valid comment.
Ok guys, you can go but give us some time before you goServer crashes immediately after the biggest update ever? It's not unreasonable. Give them time.

More internets for us.If you are prone to emotional outbursts like you frequently are then you should heed the unwritten rules of patch day and that is to not play on them.
Some one has never played an online game ever....
I give FDev a small pass because their servers are kinda insane, but I don't think its unreasonable to assume that you can play a game the day it launches. I've played dozens of online games and Elite is the only modern online game that has server issues of this caliber and has them consistently with each update. The problem is that people don't know when they'll actually be able to play the game. IT also kills a lot of launch day hype. Instead of screenshots and cheers, there's just a nervous chuckle and screenshots of people not being able to connect. There are a lot of valid complaints today. This is not one of them.
Yep. Don't like people wasting my time.I give FDev a small pass because their servers are kinda insane, but I don't think its unreasonable to assume that you can play a game the day it launches. Its not taken seriously in the industry, but this is very bad PR. A lot of the effort to build hype is wasted when people see posts about how buggy everything is and then decide not to spend their money. Or worse, they can't even access the in-game store (which is my case). That ends up being a lot of money left on the table simply because the game botched yet another update launch.
Its also a little surprising because we already know that the servers are gonna get hit hard. This has happened with almost every major update for the last 6 years and yet they are still facing major server issues on launch days. I don't think its unreasonable for people to be upset about it and in the end its FDev who is losing. If they're ok with players losing hype and deciding not spend on money on Elite, its really not our problem. It just means you shouldn't bother taking the day off or anything like that (and to be frank, that's the attitude I'm seeing, which is pretty bad).
You waisted you own time. Don't set time aside to play on patch day in any online game. Everyone knows that. If you did it, you have none to blame but yourself.Yep. Don't like people wasting my time.
It's also the only game that has a single BGS shared across three platforms, at least that I'm aware of. Games like COD, Battlefront, etc break players up into countless smaller shards, which is very different than having one single database that has to track a constant stream of transactions coming from every single player regardless of mode or platform, and then making real-time calculations based on those transactions to influence hundreds of thousands of markets, faction states, etc. You have to admit that's pretty intense when compared to the basic match-making that most game servers provide.I give FDev a small pass because their servers are kinda insane, but I don't think its unreasonable to assume that you can play a game the day it launches. EVERY SINGLE update.
