On my machine at least, ground content feels like its alot better (dr kay..) but station interiors feels identical, ie, nothing was done to them since the alpha. Also i managed to get performance a little bit better, just like the 90's.. turn shadows to low and everything is a lot better. It also feels like the geometry is being computed on the fly.. it takes a very long time for more than a few gross triangles to pop in if your gpu is overloaded. Environment to low helps, but it still is a delay well beyond "pop in" as it is in every other game.
Also i know it was probably wishful thinking.. but the whole expansion is a little bit pointless. Because of the hard bolt on.. if you're configured to be playing elite dangerous the space game, and ignore all the npcs calling out at you, and dont care about the new mission board.. there is literally nothing in odysee for you. You have to go seeking the fps, otherwise there is really nothing new. The station interiors are all the same.. after getting your graphics to work, there's no reason to go back (apart from fps).
I'll give it another go after some optimisations, but yeh just personally the value of elite is in the horizons content. I know you all are keen hardcore shooter fans, so don't expect you to agree, but just saying that's how it is for me. Also the release feels identical to the alpha in substance, it doesn't feel like a step forward.
