The devs have we done it upside down?!?!

 You're clearly a Barrister.

I'm neither British or a lawyer, but I have been a part of successful class action lawsuits. I don't have grounds to be a plaintiff in this case, but that doesn't mean I can't toss up a web app for people who do to co-ordinate. Roll your eyes all you'd like.

Have fun then... Let us all know how it goes... :ROFLMAO:

I hope you can get sufficient interest to get a law firm to take on Frontier for a $40 bit of software that is currently being 'fixed'

I know people who are currently in a class action suit here in California over an amount smaller than $40, and with less than 100 people. It has already cost the company being litigated against millions. You'd be amazed at how expensive the process is for companies here.

The most likely scenario would be if lawsuits were filed against Steam and Epic, as they advertised and sold the actual game. Both have headquarters in the United States.

Even then, the worst case scenario for FDev would be Epic and Steam removing Elite from their platforms.

None of this is particularly likely to happen, nor could it happen in a timely enough manner to satisfy the short attention span of most gamers.

The new planet tech is broken, plain and simple. The biggest tell of this is, that they didn't push the current version of the planet tech into Horizon despite they initially intended to do that at the launch of Odyssey.

Thanks god for that. I enjoy Horizons just as it is. Also , being a veteran of the gaming industry I waited diligently for 3rd party reviews before I decided if I was going to buy Odyssey (I didn't). I will when it reaches the levels of maturity of Horizons.

I'm sure it is...

Hey, get yourself moving, you might find another interested party before it is all fixed (y)

I don't see a reason anyone would have to litigate against Steam/Epic. As you pointed out, either would simply remove FD before they let FD's legal problems touch them. I doubt FD would let it go that far as that would be ruinous for them, and not in a rhetorical sense.

You under-estimate how angry many now are with FD. The class action lawsuit that is currently costing a very well known company millions is over a single digit amount of dollars for each plaintiff. No joke. You don't have to have much money involved to get people sufficiently angry, all you have to do is lie to them, treat them poorly and refuse to make amends. FD would be very wise to simply offer refunds to head it off.

Good morning all

A few months ago, Frontier released an Odyssey video trailer. We saw (screenshot from the video) with the words "IN GAME FOOTAGE":

We see a beautiful ice planet, a superb blue sky ... And the name of the planet: WOLF 1311 B-3-B

Since then, I've always said to myself that when Odyssey comes out, it's one of the first planets I will see.

Today destination WOLF 1311 B3B, and the .....:

So disappointed, seeing angry with frontier, I didn't bother to take other captures, or even get off the ship. It is the same everywhere on the planet. I did launch odyssey, practically everything in graphics option, it is indeed the same planet. So if I did something wrong tell me, but I left the game itself.
if frontier reads me, do you take the players for fools ????
how can we arrive at such a difference ?? especially going from good to very bad ??

Your CMDS opinions?

I'm impressed with your methodical testing skills! Like you, I posted some screenshots from Frontier's marketing page on Steam, saying, "I'm not seeing anything like this in the game itself", but you went the extra mile light year and actually compared shots to the geographical location. Bravo Zulu!

As for my thoughts regarding Odyssey, I'm disappointed but not angry, because my money is still in my pocket.

And that neatly sums up so much of what is wrong with US civil litigation. I can assure you that nothing like that is ever going to gain any traction in the UK.

It doesn't need to. If they sell here, they are subject to it's laws. The Brits themselves could have absolutely zero consumer protections, but as long as FD sells here, it means flip all.

Frontier are lying scoundrels. They don't show any regard for the community and disrespect us so blatantly, and for a company that desires to be the most respected company in the industry, they have a funny way of earning it!!!

One thing that looks really nasty are those blocky grey patches all over (at high altitudes) and seemingly on every planet now.

One thing I've personally wanted for so long are proper blue-ish ice worlds, but again they evade me. I've found a couple of decent looking snowy worlds, but no icey ones.
