Again, I'm not sure how Steam version of the game works, but logs are saved in a different place: C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous and it shouldn't be deleted when the game is uninstalled.

How far did you get with them? Without giving too much away, there was a point at which they revealed themselves to be very much a sci-fi based series 🙂

McCaffrey had a habit of using a lot of IRL local place names for characters or even whole planets, which I began to find too humorous to be able to take seriously in the end, unfortunately. But that was definitely a "me" problem 😅

Right now I am being very sad because after having uninstalled, and then re-installed the game. I still can't play. Doesn't matter if I choose Horizons (which I could play before I bought Odyssey), or Odyssey, what happens is the same. The game opens on my primary monitor, to the very first black screen, and that's it. My computer freezes. No matter how long I have waited, my comp is frozen dead fatal loop type dead. I have to do a hard boot. So I'm out. I could play after the update, but before I bought Odyssey, and now I can't play at all.

edit I stand corrected. After uninstalling the Odyssey dlc, I am now back in the game. Horizons only for me I guess.

You're not having much luck are you?
Without trying to tell you how to suck eggs, have you tried doing an uninstall, then a disk clean-up before re-installing? Also try validating your files after re-install.
Don't know much about Steam, but could you try doing the same with that? Not sure if that deletes any games you've got through Steam.

I had to remove the Odyssey dlc and now I can play. It seems to be something particular in regards to odyssey. No clue but meh, I'll wait a cpl months and then try it again and maybe by then they'll have found the issue and fixed it. I'd give them logs, but it's a total system freeze so logs don't save.

Before you leave Tod don’t forget to add an Experimental Effect as like increasing your grade/rank with Tod you cannot do it remotely.

Oh cool. Maybe the next upgrade or two will be done quicker and require fewer mats then. I hadn't thought about that.

Nice. And all it took was a completely wasted weekend.

I kinda feel like this is all my fault because I suggested that downloading Odyssey couldn't break Horizons any more than it was.

At least you can play again - glad you found a way to get back in.
