What animals are definetly off the table?

I wanna know what animals Frontier will NEVER implement into PZ. No "for now" or "right now" stuff. They said that about Pteranodon in JW:E and we got them eventually

Umm... I don't think any of us can actually answer that question. We can speculate sure, but unless Frontier says themselves, we don't actually know...

I'm currently assuming anything extinct and/or has absolutely no captive representation (exhibits may get a pass because of the titan beetle but eh).
I would also suggest that cetaceans are unlikely due to how controversial they are (I'm mainly talking about on the forums, but real life stuff should obviously be taken into consideration).

I think we wont see sloths unfortunately. I hope Frontier will find a way to add them eventually, but I doubt it. I am also not sure about amall exhibit mammals, as we have not seen any yet.

I assume Exhibit Mammals might be possible. Just put the Walking Animations on a Loop like they did with the swimming for the Diamondback Terrapin. It would open so many Options if Frontier would decide to change their Mind about Exhibit Mammals and maybe Birds (Hummingbirds). They could update the Arctic Pack with a Exhibit Animal. Some Species of Lemming would be so great for that. I think Sloths could also be done as Exhibit Animal if they don't find another Way to add them

Why do you think that? 🤔
Well, it really doesn't fit anywhere in my opinion. It doesn't fit in North America, not in Africa, and not in an Aviary Pack. The only way we would get these guys is if we got an Endangered animals pack, or a Eurasia pack (which I think are both unlikely).

Why would these Packs be unlikely? I think they would fit really nice in a Pack together with the Amur Leopard (or some other Asian Leopard Subspecies)

Trust me, I would love to see a Eurasia pack with Amur Leopards, Wild Horses, Saiga, Yak, etc. However, and I hate to sound like the "I'm just trying to be realistic" guy, but it's not gonna happen. Planet Zoo has 3 (4 at most) DLCs left in the tank and this region is not a priority imo. So like I said, I would love to see it, but it seems very unlikely.

Really hope there will be more DLCs. Due to the Lack of new Zoo Games, they should support the Game as long as possible with new Content

I think Sloths won't make it either, I think it's too boring as an animal to work properly in a game. Yeah, it might look good (they are appealing looking animals) but slow interacting/not active animals - I think most people prefer species that are more interactive.

Off the table: Certain sub-species would be my guess, Asiatic Lion, another tiger species, another Zebra species, another Giraffe species.

Tbh, that's not a problem for a developer.
This is an issue that most niche-categories encounter in gaming.

I think koalas helped show that sloths could be on the table. Certainly not saying that we will be seeing them, because I think there's an appreciable difference in the activity level between koalas and sloths, but Frontier has already shown that they're willing to make koalas far more active and energetic than you'd ever see them in real life.

I really don't want exhibit mammals or birds, though (naked mole rats might be the literal sole exception). At least not without major changes to the way exhibits work in the first place. I'd much rather just have smaller habitat animals. I just really don't like the thought of even the slowest moving mammals being confined to temperature-regulated glass boxes. It seems like a poor fit, and not a good environment for anything larger than a rat.

Przewalski's horse could totally still happen. Maybe it isn't a frontrunner, but it's a super popular community pick so it definitely seems a bit early to say it's "definitely off the table".

All that said, I really don't think we can say with confidence much anything that's 100% not going to happen aside from extinct and fictional animals. Even with cetaceans, I'm only about 95% sure they won't happen.

I'd say nearly 100% without being actually at 100%, that extinct animals are off the table. Same with domesticated dogs and cats - unlike farm animals in petting zoos (I'll get to that), domesticated breeds of cats and dogs are almost unheard of in zoos.

90% certain that larger cetaceans and certain species of fish that don't do well in captivity will not show up - Great White Shark being an example but also an exception, if they do fully marine animals, I think it's too iconic of a shark species to not include, even though it's been proven they do not fare well in captivity.

Even with that, I'm still 75% certain they won't do fully marine animals at all. Smaller cetaceans, octopus, fish large and small found in aquariums and zoos.

50% certain no farm animals -too much ambivalence or too hard of a sell, compared to other more exotic species, although many zoos do have petting zoos and other zoo games have had common domesticated farm animals.

Also 50% possibility of fully avian animals - and of all of these groups, this is the one I want the most to happen. Fully Marine animals can have their Planet Aquarium. A zoological venture devoted exclusively to avian animals is far less common, I would think. Certainly not enough to venture into making Planet Nest.

I'd also say 50/50 chance of exhibits for birds, small fish and small mammals. Sloths might be the only bigger mammal that I would seriously encourage thought towards putting in an exhibit, the mechanics of speed with the sloth family could prove troublesome in a habitat, but not insurmountable. Still, they move so little, they'd almost be like an exhibit animal anyways.
