Has the hysteria died down yet?

Then maybe Frontier should have made sure and taken care to release a more finished product before asking people to form over a significant amount of $$ for a DLC. Accountability and all that.

Besides, if people are really thrilled with the product they can also change their reviews.
Many of the reviews on there I've read state just that, (contrary to what OP said about them) they intend to change their review once the bugs are ironed out. It's not so bad for fdev

If only! Unfortunately there are far too many idiots in the world. Some of them are even running governments
While I wholeheartedly agree that stupidity may hurt us (let's not get too political, but yes I agree), I also really feel that in this case it really is a small minority that is not hurting anything other than that they are wasting their own time. Most of the criticism I've seen was well-founded and civilised.

However you seem genuinely upset by a few negative, unfounded reviews for EDO. Maybe you are so angry about the stupidity you see in other parts of your life (again I hear you) that you get easily triggered?

Yes I know.. but they're also entitled to make spurious claims and even state outright lies in those reviews too because nothing is ever checked and there's no oversight. Those lies can also stay on the Internet in perpetuity in the name of "freedom of speech" and it's all done because the wrong sort of people say it's their legitimate and heartfelt opinion. These people hurt democracy, they hurt the Internet, they hurt freedom of speech and they hurt all of the rest of us in the process. If anybody doesn't think that's worth challenging, they can go and talk to someone else.

Sounds like you’re claiming all of the negative reviews are a conspiracy to purposely take the game down with unwarranted allegations?

How come then pretty much all of the official gaming press channels are saying the exact same things with their own play reviews? Are they all part of this conspiracy too?

The best time to delete this thread was when you posted it and second best time is now

Are you now saying that the minority is the majority on there?
Ooh! We reach the realms of political science  to be honest it's easy to argue, because both capitalism and communism have a ruling elite that keeps the population below them in relative or absolute poverty through the use of repeated lies about how the future will be much better for them if they only work harder, which of course only serves the needs of the rich and the ruling classes who become richer and more powerful off the back of that. This coupled with the huge majority of the rich and powerful people in the world being white men, a position they obtained off the back of slavery and discrimination, it's actually very easy to argue that the majority (the people) are the minority (in power and wealth).

I could actually debate this point all day 😁

I very much doubt the gaming press are claiming that Frontier intended to release a borked game.

This is not a politics thread, no matter how interesting an be careful, I'm not a tell tale but posts discussing such get removed. Let's stay on our make believe space game topic

Well, the game was borked and they intended to release it regardless, so...
Ooh! That's carefully used language that is... They "intended" to release the game, therefore they "intended" to release a borked game because the game is borked... It's a good use of language, but can be picked apart by people saying that in doing so they would be deliberately shooting themselves in the foot.

Fact - Frontier was clearly aware that the game was not finished (and broken in many ways) and released it anyways.

So releasing the game in a non-finished/broken state was absolutely intentional. People are welcome to read whatever else they'd like into that - but the basic facts are clear.
