For people with the gamma/brightness issue, I may have found a workaround (at least it works for me )

Possible Workaround for too dark lightning

I think I may have stumbled over the reason for the players who experience too dark overall graphics. Info: The lightning is still of and needs fixing, this is only for the "gamma" problem I think the guy who posted the analysis with the mix of the shaders with HDR and non HDR was onto...

The question is, with their release history, how can they have a QA department? Aside from the public, anyway.

RANK bug with Superpowers still not fixed. You cannot gain rank beyond Squire even though you are repeatedly notified of the Knight Promotion.

Just ran it one more time, still the same (tried it on SOLO, PRIVATE and OPEN)

BTW, it was allied 100%. But when I logout and back in, it drops down to 98%

DSS is borked in VR.

And it's crippled - useless in Odyssey (unless you're a fan of the repetitive crash sites; everything else is a game of luck trying to find anything).

FDev isn't a smaller company though, it's massive. With that many products and updates, QA is a must...

I used the term loosely - I'm come across companies with headcounts in the hundreds who had no dedicated QA department.

Anyhow, it's a moot point. Whether FDev had QA or not, was subordinate to the decision to release in May, for whatever reason. I've no doubt both development and QA warned management that the product was not ready for release, but here we are. I just hope the reason for this wasn't simply to trigger bonuses for key management - that would go down like a lead balloon.

Dear Frontier developers, could you please have a notice of that bug? For me (and many many other people) it is an important point of your game to become a higher rank.
You know that.
But why nobody do reply to that bug (and our request)?

Dear Frontier developers, could you please have a notice of that bug? For me (and many many other people) it is an important point of your game to become a higher rank.
You know that.

I've played for another couple of hours today and it looks brilliant. I've still not encountered any major bugs, but aware I may need to play it more. I do agree though, we need to acknowledge the hard work despite any bugs people are experiencing. It's been a difficult year for everybody and they'll sort this and it's going to be such a good game. Already it's a lot better than Horizons and provides a lot more depth. I can already see the potential for some amazing Community Goals!

Clearly.... I have been in the industry, and I don't tolerate labor exploitation of the sort you are referring to.

Ive been a senior IT manager, net/sysadmin for decades, and I, too, tend to be in hiring positions, and it seems we are diametric opposites in that regard, arent we friend. We dont hire developers or 'scrum managers' who act like you. We avoid them like the plague.

To point this out quickly, this game been bugged for years with some bugs never been fully addressed, further more, the development team bring out content thats bugged on every update, why is this, it seems to me frontier have lost their passion as time went on for elite dangerous, yes they are fixing the broken parts of the update but this update shouldn't of been this bugged especially since they had a beta for it.

Yes the content is nice if your on pc but consoles got the same update without the odyssey bit and it caused many issues.

You want them to keep deceiving the public about the state of their product and charging people for broken turds that they know full well are broken turds? You want them to continue using their paying customers as their QA department because it's cheaper than actually hiring a QA department?

Unfortunately, until folks wise up and stop giving money for unfinished products (won't happen), this is what we're stuck with.

That is why it's called innovation, a upgrade, Version 1...2 etc. With innovation comes adversity and ALL I have seen with Frontier has been them stepping up to the plate actually more then most companies. I think who Braben is if you listen to him he doesn't sound like one to let his ego override his original passion of not creating a game in which he grows "bored" of...it amazes me because ppl spend a fortune on fortnite with 1/10 of the graphics and then hop on here crying. Long story short this is what I paid for and I'm happy. o7 You should be too bc we all know what this game is...it can't be a great game one week and the worst the next. PERIOD. ,

there is a HUGE difference between a product finished to the best of technology available at the time, and the dumpster fire that odyssey is for many many people.

Braben sounds like someone who got his hand caught in a cookie jar and is now double speaking to try and get out of trouble Actions speak louder than words and his direct actions as the head of the company say he was OK with letting this un polished, unfinished, lied about product be sold to customers, and everything post that launch is backpeddling and blame shifting - Fdev management was responsible for this release, and as head of management the final stop is with Braben
