There really aren't anyone doing that. Everyone is saying there are issues. But it seems many can enjoy the game regardless of the issues.

As to the roadmap. We got exactly what they said it would be.
Look around a bit, man. There are TONS of posts and tons of threads that try to expressly imply that everything is fine and that it's the users' fault for expecting a product to work. You know how many threads I've passed that go along the lines of "all games have bugs, you all are ungrateful for the amazing work they've done"??

What makes me sad is that it becomes more and more apparent that the upper management view Elite Dangerous Commanders as a source of income, and not as a source of motivation or inspiration.

Frontier is interested in publishing and new IP. Think EA.

If Frontier were truly intent on developing Elite Dangerous, it would probably have upgraded the Cobra engine or invested in a more powerful one.

There is no meaningful Roadmap because the current software is so kluged and broken.

It's hard to plan a road trip if you are in a jalopy.

:(

Here I've made a start on at lease one of the many fixes and improvements

It would be worrisome if a corporation viewed their customers as something other than a source of income. If we aren't paying the bills, who is? This is not an open source project or a chairty.

That's one possible approach that will unavoidably lead to tears and depression. The alternative is to hunt for the niche parts of the game. And for it's amazing diversity that you can find on planetary surfaces now. But to each his own of course... Have FUN - or NOT. It's up to you.
There is another approach - play other games. That's what I've been doing and I've had FUN FUN FUN! No game is worth getting depressed about with the array of entertainment choices we have these days, especially with Xbox Game Pass.

Other games get updated on a regular basis and don't leave players hanging for months until basic bugs are fixed and rebalancing is done..Check out what Paradox Interactive are doing with Stellaris and ask yourself why we can't have the same approach for ED:

A very sensible one, have fun.

I most certainly do! :)

The issue here is you are framing it like we have an obligation to give FDev money regardless of quality. This is not so. If majority of consumers are unhappy with a project, they have full right to stop giving it their money. As they should; nobody should ever be obligated to give any company money.

Console player here.

After update 5 you want to focus on bringing the "community together" right?

Nothing to do with $$$....no

Track record shows grab cash, fix months later. Here is my roadmap and probably many other console users.
  1. No preorder
  2. Proven right
  3. Buy in sale months later
I would love to be proven wrong.

Generally a roadmap for something like this covers a timespan longer than 20 days, just so you know for next time. Looking forward to the fixes.

Our community have always been the beating heart of Elite Dangerous and we take the feedback very seriously.
Then why don't you act on it?

Why haven't you engaged with the community at all? In fact, why have you actively lied to us? No one from FDev responds to posts. I've got bugs in your issue tracker that have been ignored since day one of Odyssey and I suspect they'll go the same way as the ones I raised on the old system - ignored and never dealt with.

You're damaging the very heart you profess to hold so dear.

I'm going to speculate that there's a lot of people here who expected their concerns were going to be addressed. Otherwise, we would not see this uproar on the forums.

But hey, we're getting on-foot ARX. Yay! I never even knew I wanted that.

Lets wait until the patches are applied before taking the pitch forks shall we?

At this point in time we simply don't know what will and wont be fixed.

It's almost like we need a roadmap linked to the issue tracker..... You know a roadmap that shows the direction of the product.........

Nah, Fdev wouldn't want to be that communicative now would they?
