Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Somehow, like clockwork, they manage to find endless buyers who are interested in several hundred -- or thousand -- dollar pre-release or unplayable DLC ships for a pre-alpha niche space game with ridiculously high hardware requirements.

Naah - the hardware requirements themselves are not the burden. It's been tested quite extensively on enterprise kit that makes a several hundred, or thousand - expense quite simply a rounding error, and the results are identical to low-to-mid tier home enthusiast platforms.

I wouldn't class ship interiors as absurd scope creep considering how popular they are in general. You might not see the point in them...but that's you ;)
I agree with this point, especially going back to those heady days when people were talking about boarding parties, and others (including the devs) were putting forth scenarios of players smuggling themselves aboard another player's ship.

That was back when Payday 2 was nearing its peak, and the idea of squad-based break-ins and takovers stoked a lot of motivated buyers with dreams backers.

That honestly seemed like really great gameplay potential, and much more purposeful than <checks notes> pretending to be F. Scott Fitzgerald in space on an 890.

Looks like there is a new hot topic in SC land. Seems like some people are getting all worked up about whether its ok to be a solo player in a multiplayer game or not.

And what are these "blades" people keep talking about. Why do i get the feeling its something to do with having AI controlled turrets and instead of just calling it that CIG invented a fancy word for it?

That's exactly it.

Solo players are having a bit of an existential crisis.

And yes, "blades" are for automating turrets. Not as bad as some other things as ships are supposed to have computers that you can add various features. The features are blades. If you automate turrets you have to give up some other buff/perk.
