Well it was the whole point of Microsoft buying Bethesda, to have their own "big" exclusives.
It makes me sad, that Starfield have something I miss in Elite.

Yeah, of course. Still, there was a fair few unanswered questions. A definitive answer has not been given yet, in fact the trailer leak is the only reason we already know for sure now.

I would think it would be more profitable to release on psn as well and get paid by Sony and their customers plus whatever they make for micro transactions and dlc . Opposed to creating a schism between potential life long fans who would could potentially prefer to hold a grudge then buy a whole other platform 
It seems petty to choose 'one-uping' your competitors in favor of satisfying your fan base....

Unrelated, but Bethesda. The theory that Redfall is TES6's name has been disproven.
Lol, in the first few seconds of audio... They named the starship 'frontier'? Hahahhahah I really hope they're brave enough to make it a competitor to both star citizen and elite. That would be so perfect.
EDIT: I think its a good sign. They named the ship frontier and visually the ship looks like a clone of star citizen. If they wanted to avoided sending a message they could have done it differently? Go for the throat
Sure its probably going to be an rpg... but if they put it in a reasonably sized sandbox that would be amazing. The game we were supposed to get from star citizen and elite. Going to have to upgrade my pc for this one.
If anything, bethesda have standards that are in a few leagues above any company that needs to go panhandling to enable a game.. so applied to the expectations we're all calibrated at from current games it can only be good. Unless they cyberpunk it. But its microsofts first modern exclusive so also unlikely.
